Svsmokey Posted April 23, 2020 Posted April 23, 2020 (edited) While the kneeboard on the pilot's leg offers a nice visual effect , it is far too small to be of any practical use-at least in VR . Even zoomed in to the max it is unreadable . Further , the way it looks and operates makes me think it is a viewport , much as mirrors are , and with a corresponding hit to performance . If that is indeed the case , I would much prefer to disable it if the option existed . Svsmokey Posted April 23, 2020 Author Posted April 23, 2020 I think you are thinking of the outsized kneeboard RShft-k . I'm speaking of the one on the pilot's leg , that AFAIK , cannot be turned off . 9700k @ stock , Aorus Pro Z390 wifi , 32gb 3200 mhz CL16 , 1tb EVO 970 , MSI RX 6800XT Gaming X TRIO , Seasonic Prime 850w Gold , Coolermaster H500m , Noctua NH-D15S , CH Pro throttle and T50CM2/WarBrD base on Foxxmounts , CH pedals , Reverb G2v2

What I was curious about, is it "usable", as in can you scroll pages with the one on your knee in VR? Sent from my ANE-LX1 using Tapatalk

Bailey Posted April 23, 2020 Posted April 23, 2020 The quality and usability of the pilot kneeboard varies among modules. Some have placeholder text, others have a filly functioning kneeboard that updates during the mission (mark points), others have static pages, and some have nothing at all. I really like the kneeboard in VR. It's that extra bit of immersion (yes, I can see and read it in VR). If there is a performance hit, I wouldn't mind the option to remove it. ~Bailey DCS VoiceAttack Profiles | My Mods and Utilities on ED User Files | DiCE: DCS Integrated Countermeasure Editor DCS Update Witching Utility | DCS-ExportScripts for Stream Deck Community Github Library | Kiowa Integrated Overlays

Bailey Posted April 24, 2020 Posted April 24, 2020 Yeah , in the Hornet it is functional but unreadable in VR . I just tried it out and the pilot kneeboard works great in the F18! Also readable for me in Index 150% steam SS, DCS PD 1.0, force PD 60. ~Bailey DCS VoiceAttack Profiles | My Mods and Utilities on ED User Files | DiCE: DCS Integrated Countermeasure Editor DCS Update Witching Utility | DCS-ExportScripts for Stream Deck Community Github Library | Kiowa Integrated Overlays
Svsmokey Posted April 24, 2020 Author Posted April 24, 2020 Don't know what to tell you . I can't read it at all , even max zoomed , and i have no problem reading the ddi text or switch legends without zoom or lean-in . Bailey Posted April 24, 2020 Posted April 24, 2020 I'm not saying you are wrong, not at all. I'm just sharing my experience. ~Bailey DCS VoiceAttack Profiles | My Mods and Utilities on ED User Files | DiCE: DCS Integrated Countermeasure Editor DCS Update Witching Utility | DCS-ExportScripts for Stream Deck Community Github Library | Kiowa Integrated Overlays
