gavagai Posted April 24, 2020 Posted April 24, 2020 Been flying on some dogfighting servers and I noticed that the Mirage 2000 starts with Radar off Nav lights on IFF system off Master arm off There is no other fighter that starts so assbackward with an airstart. This post will probably end up in the abyss, but just thought I would point it out. Yol Posted April 24, 2020 Posted April 24, 2020 Isn't it a bad setup from the servers owners ? Just asking.
gavagai Posted April 24, 2020 Author Posted April 24, 2020 It's like that for every quickstart missin, offline too, don't think it's the server. TaleSpin Posted April 24, 2020 Posted April 24, 2020 (edited) I am quite new to multiplayer in DCS, but I would agree - it belongs to server settings. There are people saying the Mirage is buggy in multiplayer; either this is true or the various servers have quite different settings (I don't know which parameters the host can set)... EDIT: Concerning NAV lights, watch some videos from the Grim Reapers and sometimes there are 10 guys flying around, dogfighting etc. and everyone is blinking/flashing like a christmas tree. So yes, I think this is rather a server default setting than an oversight by all pilots. Edited April 24, 2020 by TaleSpin
gavagai Posted April 24, 2020 Author Posted April 24, 2020 But there is no setting in the mission editor to adjust an aircraft's config for an airstart. This is done by Razbam. Rudel_chw Posted April 24, 2020 Posted April 24, 2020 But there is no setting in the mission editor to adjust an aircraft's config for an airstart.. Actually, there is .. the X:COCKPIT PERFORM CLICKABLE ACTION, allows you to set cockpit switches at mission start ... yes, I agree that it is laborious, but you can set the aircraft in whatever arbitrary config you need. gavagai Posted June 17, 2020 Author Posted June 17, 2020 The funny thing is that you already knew it wouldn't work for multiplayer when you posted that reply. https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=276597 This is a fix that would need to come from Razbam. unlikely_spider Posted June 17, 2020 Posted June 17, 2020 All these things are an accurate representation of how the real aircraft air-starts. Modules: Wright Flyer, Spruce Goose, Voyager 1
