Razor18 Posted May 1, 2020 Posted May 1, 2020 I just found this info about ATFLIR VVVSL: "VVVSL option: Displayed in A/G or NAV master mode when a target has not been designated and the velocity vector is valid. Slaves the FLIR line of sight to the aircraft velocity vector when inflight. With weight-on-wheels, reinitializes the FLIR to DEFAULT pointing mode (7.5° below the horizon along aircraft ground track). HOTAS undesignation also commands the FLIR into VVSLV if it is available. Although VVSLV is not available when a designation exists, the HOTAS method of commanding VVSLV is still valid since the first Undesignate command will undesignate the target prior to the second command invoking VVSLV." So if no designation, Undesignate should activate VVVSL (at least in RL). Is this coming too?
silverdevil Posted May 2, 2020 Posted May 2, 2020 i do not believe currently it does; which would be interesting and helpful. now i cage the FLIR or un-designate which goes back to boresight. then i have to press the display button for VVSLV to re-initiate the process.
