baltic_dragon Posted May 5, 2020 Posted May 5, 2020 Hey guys, I am getting into the intricacies of the dynamic weather system (seeing how it increases the immersion and fun factor of the missions) and I think I have sorted out most of it - apart from one thing: does anyone know how to change the altitude of the cloud layer? Or what affects it? Thanks! For more information, please visit my website. If you want to reach me with a bug report, feedback or a question, it is best to do this via my Discord channel. Pikey Posted May 5, 2020 Posted May 5, 2020 it doesnt - you mean the fluffy ones, right? It changes the solid cloud layer at 9 and 10 tenths Sorry, another one we've been begging for. Also Dynamic weather ends up pretty weird on different parts of the map, you can get a whole load of fluffy clouds, then it just stops suddenly. Personally, I wouldnt, after experience :) ___________________________________________________________________________ SIMPLE SCENERY SAVING * SIMPLE GROUP SAVING * SIMPLE STATIC SAVING *
baltic_dragon Posted May 5, 2020 Author Posted May 5, 2020 Well, that's a bummer... I'll probably use it only occasionally then, no point in always having the clouds hanging at 7 000 feet... thanks Pikey! For more information, please visit my website. ED Team SL PAK Posted May 5, 2020 ED Team Posted May 5, 2020 (edited) https://www.dropbox.com/s/3q64pm74rzorrun/DCS%20Dynamic%20Weather%20v1.pdf?dl=0 By editing the lua file, you can change the height of the clouds. Create two touching cyclones. Edit the parameters and see what happens. Edited May 5, 2020 by SL PAK

chromium Posted May 5, 2020 Posted May 5, 2020 If you ever get a thunderstorm with 10 oktas... call me. please. Author of DSMC, mod to enable scenario persistency and save updated miz file Stable version & site: https://dsmcfordcs.wordpress.com/ Openbeta: https://github.com/Chromium18/DSMC The thing is, helicopters are different from planes. An airplane by it's nature wants to fly, and if not interfered with too strongly by unusual events or by a deliberately incompetent pilot, it will fly. A helicopter does not want to fly. It is maintained in the air by a variety of forces in opposition to each other, and if there is any disturbance in this delicate balance the helicopter stops flying; immediately and disastrously.
