D4n Posted May 23, 2020 Posted May 23, 2020 So that we don't have to un-mount the probe everytime we spawn in multiplayer servers, this would be a very very nice option to have. AeriaGloria Posted May 24, 2020 Posted May 24, 2020 It’s there, mission editor just has to click it. And I know you’re going to say your favorite MP servers don’t do it and it would be nice. You should just ask the server admins to check that one box the next time they change something Black Shark Den Squadron Member: We are open to new recruits, click here to check us out or apply to join! https://blacksharkden.com
D4n Posted May 24, 2020 Author Posted May 24, 2020 You should just ask the server admins to check that one box the next time they change something Not gonna happen, the server admin has ignored many of my requests in the past already, so I appeal to Deka to add this. AeriaGloria Posted May 24, 2020 Posted May 24, 2020 Daniel, I’m saying this for you, but maybe blue flag isn’t for you. Maybe you should go somewhere that will value your insight. I know you love it, but maybe it’s time. I personally like the refueling probe, makes it easy to reference angles in a fight, and Deka has already given us more options to remove it then they originally planned. Tiger-II Posted May 25, 2020 Posted May 25, 2020 It's hardly a big deal to get the ground crew to remove it? It doesn't seem to take longer than normal. It takes longer to re-fuel than have that removed, so remove the probe, change the load-out, and wait? AeriaGloria Posted May 25, 2020 Posted May 25, 2020 He says he doesn’t like removing it, it takes like ten seconds Black Shark Den Squadron Member: We are open to new recruits, click here to check us out or apply to join! https://blacksharkden.com
D4n Posted May 25, 2020 Author Posted May 25, 2020 (edited) He says he doesn’t like removing it, it takes like ten seconds And several button-presses (in radio-menu). And it blocks view onto the right side of the runway, shortly before taxiing onto the runway :P (problematic when not in VR) Edited May 25, 2020 by DanielNL DCS Wishlist: 2K11 Krug SA-4 Ganef SAM, VR-TrackIR icons next to player names in score-chart PvP: 100+ manual player-kills with Stingers on a well known dynamic campaign server - 100+ VTOL FARP landings & 125+ hours AV-8B, F-14 crew, royal dutch airforce F-16C - PvP campaigns since 2013 DCS server-admins: please adhere to a common sense gaming industry policy as most server admins throughout the industry do. AeriaGloria Posted May 25, 2020 Posted May 25, 2020 What’s wrong with removing it with a few button presses? Don’t you start the plane? What about doing it while INS starts? If you’re already taking the time to take off I just don’t understand why a few button presses and ten seconds is an issue, the thing already starts as fast a MiG-21! D4n Posted May 25, 2020 Author Posted May 25, 2020 Don’t you start the plane? Yes, using autostart. What about doing it while INS starts? possible, but I've already got to do enough other things during that time (AKG target coordinates etc., mission planning). drPhibes Posted May 25, 2020 Posted May 25, 2020 So Deka and/or ED should spend their valuable time changing parts of their software because a server admin doesn't listen to your "highly requested" (sic.) suggestions? Sorry to say so, but the world doesn't revolve around you.
JCae2798 Posted May 26, 2020 Posted May 26, 2020 i get everyone's point on this but since AAR is usually not something someone will do on most missions i would prefer the aircraft default to having it off. I find it annoying and in the way. Love that we have the option in editor and we can do it on runway with aircraft turned off but 99.9% of the time i'm having to disable it because again, most missions we are not AAR... New to DCS so unless there is a very specific good reason it should be defaulted to ON i have to agree it's an annoyance....
Xeno426 Posted May 26, 2020 Posted May 26, 2020 I will say, I do find it strange that the option menu has a checkmark for removing the probe. I find that backwards; usually checkmarks are for a positive existence statement or acceptance, not a negative one.
