Old Greybeard Posted June 4, 2020 Posted June 4, 2020 As the title mentions, is there a way to roll back an update?
Frederf Posted June 4, 2020 Posted June 4, 2020 Yes, look for the section titled "Updating or Reverting DCS World to the latest build of a Specific Version" https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=114030
Frederf Posted June 4, 2020 Posted June 4, 2020 I think you can use the DCS_updater.exe command line after having set Steam not to manage the updates to stop it updating it back again to the latest. I think. Steam does have an option to pick from certain versions but not every version. Library>DCS World>Properties>BETAS. For example switching from OB to standard branch would do it although I don't know how many versions ago the standard branch is.
Bog9y Posted June 5, 2020 Posted June 5, 2020 Thanks Frederf. I had another look and was not able to rollback. I'll be patient until a fix comes out. In the meantime...back to Falcon BMS
BlackLightning Posted January 30, 2021 Posted January 30, 2021 (edited) HI. I have installed the 2.5.6.60720 version and I'd like to go back to the 2.5.6.60645 version. Following SkateZilla's guide, Ive tried the following command in the prompt: DCS_Updater.exe update 2.5.6.60645@beta and I've also tried to write "open beta" or "openbeta" or nothing about the branch or even some other tries that now I don't recall and it either doesn't work or it tells me that my version is up to date or that the version I want is not available. Can someone please help me? Edit: I've found out that in the updates list, the 2.5.6.60645 version I want doesn't have a link to a download; I guess it's one of those versions which are not preserved... BlackLightning Posted January 30, 2021 Posted January 30, 2021 I had a problem when loading missions with the latest version, but it seems that it's been resolved: Planes: FC3, Spitfire, Harrier, F-14, F-18, MiG-21, Edge 540 - Helicopters: UH-1H, Mi-8 - Environments: Persian Gulf, Supercarrier PC specs in the spoiler I run DCS 2.7 using: MasterWatt 550 semi-fanless and semi-modular, core i7-3770 (4 cores @ 3.8 GHz) with 8 GB DDR3, GTX1050 Ti (768 cores @ 1.8 GHz) with 4 GB GDDR5, 5.1 sound card, 240 GB SSD, Windows 8.1, T.16000M FCS Flight Pack (i. e. stick+throttle+rudder pedals), opentrack head trakcer
