Padonis Posted June 11, 2020 Posted June 11, 2020 The F-18 will shut off engines at the airport due to lack of fuel. I asked for refueling, but unfortunately after refueling I do not see fuel in the tank. The aircraft does not want to start the engine, even though the ground crew has reported refueling. It is not visible that the fuel was in the tank, the indications indicate 0 fuel after refueling.

Meyomyx Posted June 12, 2020 Posted June 12, 2020 Just in case you missed it - when you ask for refuel after RTB, the fuel slider on the rearm/refuel dialog reflects your current fuel state. If you request rearm/refuel without moving the slider to the required fuel amount, you'll get re-armed but not re-fuelled. Just a thought - I made this error!
Padonis Posted June 12, 2020 Author Posted June 12, 2020 I know the same applies to ammunition and torches. The problem is that the service informed me about refueling, the ground service indicator was filling the tank. However, on an airplane, the indicator shows zero. The situation was unusual, because the engine went out after landing due to lack of fuel. In other situations, the fuel was filled up correctly.
randomTOTEN Posted June 12, 2020 Posted June 12, 2020 If the engines shut down due to lack of fuel you need to repair the aircraft (have mechanics change the fuel pumps). If you don't have a source of AC power (I.E. running engines), you will see no indication of fuel quantity on IFEI. I tried watching your track at X6 and it failed when the aircraft crashed into the water.
Padonis Posted June 13, 2020 Author Posted June 13, 2020 I was repairing the plane, I was thinking about it too.
mistralol Posted June 22, 2020 Posted June 22, 2020 I was able to restart the hornet by using a ground air supply. It was just the APU that didn't start after it ran out of fuel. I wrote this off as "the apu would need bleeding to function again" Once you have power and the engine running again the fuel indicators reflect a full tank again after filling it up.
