Using buttkicker in DCS

Sound mode is very limited, I recommend going the telemetry way instead. 

Buy $30 simshaker sound module. Assing the soundcard which will feed the Buttkicker. 

Install free simshaker for aviators software. Start it. 

Start sound module. 

Now when dcs starts, it will read the modules you fly, and you willl be able to customize many effects for each. 

Guns, turbulence, geffect, sppedbrakes, hook, wing folds and many more. 

With a 0-100 range for each.

That was either a very funny/unfortunate typo, or did you mean "assisting"?

I'm sorry if I'm being difficult, but I want understand things at a deeper level to know what the limits of my possible results might be and how (if any) impact this will have on my exiting audio setup which I'm very happy with. If that typo was meant to read "assisting" then it seems like SimShaker Sound Module (by name) and Simshaker for Aviators is working by looking at the telemetry from DCS and then embedding data into audio signal that the Buttkicker Game Plus responds to? I'm not an audio engineer so I don't need to know exactly how it works but I am I'm curious how it's possible to adapt the SimShaker settings without modifying the audible sound signal assuming decent speakers and/or headset+DAC/amp are already being used.

I hope I don't sound like a broken record repeating, but the only way around this seems to be a direct interface the buttkicker. I like that it can operate as a sound card and work for any game, movie/video, or music you are playing. But I would hope it has a purely force/haptic feedback device mode as well.

ButtKicker is not cheap.  So, stupid question:  is it worth the $$ in DCSW?

I would hazard a guess that for DCS you should be using the buttkicker purely as an output transducer and use SSFA + Andre's sound module to handle the telemetry side of things.

It will need to be driven by it's own dedicated sound card (unless it has a USB/BT one built into iit.

I use my onboard realtek SC purely for the transducer, in VR I use the G2 audio (driven off it's own built in USB SC) and in pancake I use BT earbuds so the realtek is otherwise unused.

I bought an old 90's aura interactor vest off eBay for 17 quid. Basically it's a transducer in a crappy plastic wearable vest with a separate amp. Stripped the transducer out and bolted it to the back of my chair, paid for Andre's sound module and hey presto a dirt cheap seat shaker

You can build your own setup for less money and attach it to your flying chair/cockpit. You don't necessarily need a sound card. You can split off signals using Voicemeeter, which is what I do.

It was absolutely worth the money and effort.

Is one method. Other options are Andre Jetseat or bass shaker / shakers/transducers. Different budgets definitely. 

Tactile /hepatic feedback is for me mandatory to fly. For helos and tomcat it really stands out. 

Once tested, the sim feels numb, empty and dead without that kind of feedback. 

Its truly customizable, and you can add several layers, ie, a Jetseat plus 2 shakers. 

All in all, yes it's worth it.

Please list the audio devices on your current computer and we can take a closer look. I'm sorry I'm on vacation and can't provide examples from screenshoots of my system. 

The easiest way would be buying the usb external soundcard. 

Once you get simshaker sound module, and start the app, it will ask you to choose what audio source you want For the Buttkicker to be fed from. It's a drop down menu with all the devices available on your computer and recognized by windows. The software reads dcs telemetry and plays certain wav files depending on the effects triggered. 

So you don't have to modify anything of your installation. You will be only adding a cheap device which will exclusively send a signal to the Buttkicker amp.

You are missing a lot of info there, and it's only $5 away with a external usb soundcard

I would add get a few fans. both the amp and the buttkicker get hot. My buttkicker gets hot to the touch and has cut off. I got fans on the amp but need to figure out the buttkicker.

I'm looking at the Gamer Plus for my normal office chair. I fly DCS 100% in VR with the G2. Is the BKG Plus worth the European price tag of 350 eur?

Is there any performance issues? Software causing Micro stuttering or any other issues ?

And is it just a cool thing for a few weeks and after that it starts collecting dust?

$350 is not cheap but obviously a very direct and simple solution. 

I dint notice any lag due to simshaker software. 

For me it's Mandarory to fly

I don´t particular remember if the trial version of Sound Module allows for that.
Anyway try choosing Sound instead of USB, and if you have a Jetseat or similar device, don´t forget to check "Simultaneous output".
Then move to the other tab [Effect Settings], and you will see two columns, one for Jetseat effects strength, and other for Soundmodule strenght.
Check Andre website for the specifics of the trial version.

The payware solution has been around for years providing plenty of joy for many users. 

We are lucky enough to have simshaker for aviators working for free on dcs (check il2 or bms). 

If you are into tactile feedback, and $25 is a hill too steep... Think globally, it's just a small amount in the whole budget
