Have to say I am impressed with how the .50793 patch now slaves the uncaged IR MAV seeker LOS exactly to the TGP target making MAV seeker lock near automatic in almost every instance. MAV is now a much more effective AG weapon. So now AGM-65F has 2 good targeting modes, slave to WP and slave to TGP, in addition to seeker LOS symbol in HUD. Mark points, when implemented, will make mavericks an an even more versatile and deadly weapon. Kudos to DCS for this one.

The MAV slaves neither to waypoints nor the TGP, keep in mind. It slaves to the A/G TGT designation (diamond). It doesn't matter what created the TGT. (Could be a waypoint via WPDSG, via FLIR, or by A/G Radar, etc.)

What changed in the new patch is the FLIR Stabilized Pointing Mode now works correctly, where the TGT constantly updates to where the FLIR is pointed without depressing the TDC again.

When I saw this new behavior, I was thrilled. But, with all the recent issues/problems, I thought that it could be a bug or mistake that it worked that way.

Glad to find out that this is the intended operation.

It is pretty cool , it gets the mav seeker pretty close to what your TGP is looking at but be careful have your mav on narrow FOV and make sure what you have Locked up is your target I’ve lost many mav’s to objects it locks up behind or close to my target -I’m so tempted to soi over to mav page and undesignate then slew the seeker to lock up what I want but that snow plows the TGP ... so I’m getting used to fine tuning the TGP slew to lock the mav to my intended target , new process to learn

Yes, I just had one of those. Very close but not exactly on target. Will be checking this out later and working on the fine tuning process.

Still like the operation post update. Much better.

Hi i ve noticed that the MAV F catched perfectly the tpod TGP just for the first shoot.

After that , for others targets i had to cage/uncage MAV F many times to catch the TGP

I think it s a bug ... what do you think about ?

I don't know if you doods are talking about the MavF or MavE, but what the heck, as a simplicity-junky I might as well post these MavF screenshots anyway (especially for the poor huddled masses of any popcorn-munching noobs who stumble into this thread from off the street) to show how I do it with no pod..

1- Select Air-to-ground and fly that triangle over the target (in this case a fat juicy ship) and hit 'Lock', (I'm too lazy to fiddle with any 'slewing' stuff)-

2- Fire, people are on the pitch, they think it's all over!

3- It is now..:)
