TorwaK Posted February 26, 2008 Author Posted February 26, 2008 Welcome back Ice, btw we changed some settings about Team Kill case. Friendly fire victims don't lose -5 score point anymore however killer lose -10 still. SVK_Fox Posted February 28, 2008 Posted February 28, 2008 I dont know, I tend to think it'll increase the spam and less tactical thinking. A higher kill-per-time doesnt nessecerly mean that you a better pilot. I think a Kill-to-death ratio is better then... I agree with you, K/D ratio is right way to show who are the better and who is only uraaaaaaaaaaaaaa style player. air to air scoring should be done like this: crash to kill and it should be devided by by plane, cause it is a grater challenge to kill somebody with the su27 then to kill somebody with the mig or f-15 cause they are fearly easy to fly and fight with. thats why i think we should devide the scoring into the specific planetypes so we could figure to find out who are the best pilots of each typ of plane sounds cool and fair to me at least the reason for the crash to kill stats is, that i could kill 100 planes in 1 hour but got killed 200 times so that would not be taken into account when you search for the best pilot and bvr or dogfight is not just about killing it is about surviving and flying tactical This is not true, If you want I will show you that If you are fly in Su-27 you can kill more migs. Id depends on how you fly with this plane. I know that If we fly in mountains lowfly, best way is use migy but, there are still ways how to use flankers against this lowfly migs.
Grimes Posted February 28, 2008 Posted February 28, 2008 Kill/Death ratio is the only main method in my opinion of ranking players. Ground attack points on the other hand are an entirely different matter and will likely give the player with the most time in server the highest score. Theres just to many factors that can effect the overall score of a ground pounder. Take for instance the number of players in a given server, if you are alone you could rack up the points in the wee hours of night vs someone who plays when theres at least 10 people in there. Or maybe the mission design caters toward Air combat giving strikers longer flights or vague locations of their objectives. I guess my point is that A2G shouldn't be score on a pure system of x/y. Just curious, is the current thinking toward how the server would operate? A. All Servers using it are given the exact same code to run the stats and they just upload to a central location. B. All servers keep their current code but upload the logs/stat info to a central place where it is further sorted out. The right man in the wrong place makes all the difference in the world. TorwaK Posted February 28, 2008 Author Posted February 28, 2008 How is it coming along Torwak? Are the stats goinig to be like the TuAF stats now? I don't like having the A2A and A2G stats split up. We already started to developing and after couple days I'm going to start to beta phase. I didn't understand what do you mean exactly, but we didn't split up A2A and A2G stats at pilot's detailed information page. Just A2A and A2G servers are different. http://85.97.129.4/server1/pilot.php?pilot==TuAF=TorwaK Just curious, is the current thinking toward how the server would operate? A. They'll copy those files to Lock-On/export folder and run the game, that's all. When mission finishes at LO server, those LUA files automatically connect to our MySQL server and update to common stats database. Every LO server will have own MySQL username and password so we'll be able to track server admins and their LUA files records/modify/delete actions on database. Btw database will replicate with another database so if somebody modify to main database manualy, we'll be able to recover it. Our other project is common IP ban system. If server admins accept to do it, they'll install some 3rd part program to their server computers. The program will update to their banned IP database automatically per 5 minutes synchronized with other dedicated LO servers. An example if 169th server admin ban a player in game, it'll be valid for all LO servers in 5 minutes which are participant of the project. Last info about stats case, we added pilot's DAILY FLIGHT TIME STATISTIC to stats. Seperated Killed by Friendly Fire action from deaths. About scoring case, if fighter kill another fighter by cannon then 15 score points is given to the victor so I think it'll increase the fighters accuracy of fire. Mustang Posted February 28, 2008 Posted February 28, 2008 Hey guys, has the prospect of players hijacking callsigns and ruining stats deliberately been discussed? heres a recent example http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=28705 it happened to me in the RAF server, totally ruined hours of my flight time and p***ed off alot of people.
Renato71 Posted March 13, 2008 Posted March 13, 2008 Hi, I think that stats like this are great idea. As for nick protection, have you considered linking this stats to HyperLobby? I mean, if there is no possibility for other person to log into HL using my nick, could it be possible to use HL to protect nicks? This way people will not have to log into several different places. Alternatively, a separate HL look-alike application that will provide a list of only "approved/affiliated" servers. This is quite an issue if IP filtering is going to be used, as some people live in countries where IP addresses are assigned only dynamically. As for scoring, as I'm mainly flying Su-25T, I can suggest only few a2g tips… A) As basis, why not use original points from LO? I think that they are most realistically assigned and will cut short any discussion on that subject. Also, a player can gat a general idea about his/hers score while playing LO. B) Bonus points for weapons used. Below are examples. Bonus can be added to the basic score of the unit: 3 - cannon 2.5 - non-cluster bombs and unguided rockets 2 - cluster bombs 0.5 - actively guided missiles 0 - fire and forget missiles C) RTB bonus: No points for landing only. One can destroy ten enemy trucks, but RTB after destroying each, thus earning more by RTB itself then by units. As it matters what base is used for landing (main, any own, neutral, enemy), the list of such bases should be provide by server, per mission. So, if you can implement such thing - mission name and bases used per side - then it will be possible to award: 200% (of the score earned during the flight) - main airbase 150% - any own 100% - neutral 50% - enemy Above means 2 times, 1.5 time, full score, and half score earned during the flight. D) Safe eject bonus = 5 E) No bonus for winning side F) a2a score for a2g aircraft No negative for being shot down, 5 max for victory. This will discourage vulchers, especially on a2g servers. Negative 10 for making TK. I'm selling MiG-21 activation key. Also selling Suncom F-15E Talon HOTAS with MIDI connectors, several sets. Contact via PM.
cool_t Posted March 14, 2008 Posted March 14, 2008 Hi I was flying today in TUAF server 1. It was very LAGGY and LOMAC crashed on me 3 times during gmae play. As LOMAC on my PC locked up I did a hard shut down on my PC. After looking at the stats page I see that I was shot down after I was not even on the server anymore.(?) Torwak can you fix that or do I need to send you the tac view? There are alot of warping Bandits as well, we need to tell some people to turn down there PC grafix or somthing. thanks
TorwaK Posted March 14, 2008 Author Posted March 14, 2008 Because of stats development I made our server patchy so it's normal that there is lag. However I uninstalled most of programs Perl etc. check the server again.
