EDIT : MUST HAVE BEEN USER ERROR, OR ONLINE ENVIRONMENT , IT"S WORKING NOW , I CAN BUG TARGETS EVEN WHEN NOT ALL TRACKS ARE SYSTEM TRACKS YET

Ok this :

Is not working. You can't bug multiple targets ?

edit* , ok, it kind of works but is really buggy.

This only works if all your radar tracks are system tracks at the same time. If one radar contact is not a system track yet, the whole thing doesn't work for the other system tracks.

It can get messy yes, I often struggle with it as well. I find TWS in the Hornet quite a bit more "faff-proof" (is that even a word? :P ) for multi-target engagements...

Yea at this point I dont even bother with TWS in the Viper, meanwhile in the Hornet TWS is basically the only thing I use lol :megalol:

Well, basically you can not bug anything as long there is even ONE non-full track on your radar screen.

So say i have 2 full tracks, and one 'contact' that hasn't fully shown up yet. I can't do anything ! I can't engage the 2 full tracks at all in tws

What i mean is, in this situation, you can't do anything at all : https://imgur.com/JVkNUlv

Can you Post a track? In that Screenshot TMS right short should make the leading and the right target System Targets (filled White boxes) and you can Switch the bugged target between them with TMS right short then. You can never Bug both Targets, thats correct, but a target does Not need to be bugged after beeing Launched on to Support a Missile. System target is enough, or even correlates Tracks (?)

Yes i said that wrong, it won't make the closest one a system target. And you can't cycle through them.

I was playing online, and i had a situation just like in the picture.

I could press TMS right all day but nothing would happen. I could also not bug anything by slewing and hitting TMS up.

To me it seems, that as long as there is one small square in the mix, basically the whole TWS-bugging doesn't work.

It will be difficult to reproduce in a mission as i'm not sure how to keep a small square, a small square while the other tracks are big squares, but i'll try and then post the track

"Bug" means the target which a weapon if released will try to kill. More than one bug is a nonsense idea. What would multiple bugs even mean? Is the AIM-120 going to split in half and half kill two targets? There is and will always be at a maximum one bug.

Note: remove the Link 16 from the system by turning MIDS dial off. Link 16 will confuse and obfuscate how the radar works so don't even bother to try to understand the radar with MIDS on. How L16 and the radar meld is a whoooooole 'nother ball of wax.

Well, basically you can not bug anything as long there is even ONE non-full track on your radar screen.

That isn't true. I have screenshots of having 1 system track, 3 tank tracks, and 2 contacts simultaneously and I can bug that one system track either manually or by stepping. As long as I have at least one system track I can cycle through them with TMS right short. Alternately I can cursor over a system track and TMS up to bug that one. The difference is my choice vs the priority order of the system.

Here, I'll upload a track that demonstrates having all three types of symbols on the radar at once and still managing to do the whole bug thing.

Well TWS seems to not work very well at all in multiplayer .

It works in a sterile environment where nothing changes, but as soon as one of the contacts disappear for a second it becomes a hot mess.

The only way for it not to go off the rails crazy is to set the azimuth to 10 degrees

The fact that the MFD's are tiny as hell doesn't help either

Useless
