topol-m Posted April 29, 2010 Posted April 29, 2010 Is this a military aircraft cause I have the feeling it can be shot down with a sling? [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Renato71 Posted April 29, 2010 Posted April 29, 2010 erm, sorry, its not military, silly me :prop: I run into it and while searching for correct designation for your clue, and thought it would be a laugh to have something old. Should I post another one? Military this time :music_whistling: I'm selling MiG-21 activation key. Also selling Suncom F-15E Talon HOTAS with MIDI connectors, several sets. Contact via PM.
topol-m Posted April 29, 2010 Posted April 29, 2010 (edited) We can continue with this one, there have been several non military aviation related questions before so I guess it`s ok as an exception. But can you give us a clue about that flying coffin. I have to admit I know nothing about civil aviation not to speak about that period of the aviation history :) Edited April 29, 2010 by topol-m [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Renato71 Posted April 29, 2010 Posted April 29, 2010 Thanks for understanding :) Name the contructor, that will do. And its the possible clues that gave me the laugh, they are something to tormet properly :D Constructor was a famous inventor in his time. Among other things, one you're still using today (hopefully). Other was popular with elderly people, and you can see it in British sitcom "Alo Alo" quite often. I'm selling MiG-21 activation key. Also selling Suncom F-15E Talon HOTAS with MIDI connectors, several sets. Contact via PM.
Renato71 Posted April 29, 2010 Posted April 29, 2010 No, this is a quite pre-WW1 aircraft, and I do not think Leduc was old enough. Kudos for trying, and next clue for you: That first invention - you may have it on your desk. I have a few :) I'm selling MiG-21 activation key. Also selling Suncom F-15E Talon HOTAS with MIDI connectors, several sets. Contact via PM.
Renato71 Posted April 30, 2010 Posted April 30, 2010 Santos Dumont? No, but of appropriate age :) And, I'm not sure he had invented anything that you as well may have on your desk :) And even if you do not have it on your desk right now, I'm pretty sure that you have used it in school every day. And its not toilet paper :D Few additional hints for Saturday after-lunch time: Constructor and pilot of that aircraft built only two aircraft. Although he flew them only few years after brothers Wright, he did not fly them a lot, and had a crash with the second one. Devoted the rest of his life to improve on his (pre-WW1) invention that made him very famous and rich, and it is still used today in almost unchanged form. It is something that you use when you are not using your PC or any electronic device, but you want to do the same thing as you are doing here. In some languages it is named after his last name (much like razor blades are called as "gilletes"). The second invention that made him famous is made out of rubber. Extremely popular in his time, you can see it in many movies that depict times from 1910-1940. Everybody had one in their bedrooms, and no, its not a condom :D Second clue may confuse younger people, so just take a look around your desk, or any desk at all. NOT the lunch table, it has nothing to do with cutlery. If properly used :D I'm selling MiG-21 activation key. Also selling Suncom F-15E Talon HOTAS with MIDI connectors, several sets. Avilator Posted April 30, 2010 Posted April 30, 2010 Is the first invention the pencil sharpener? Or the pencil itself? I only respond to that little mechanical voice that says "Terrain! Terrain! Pull Up! Pull Up!" Who can say what is impossible, for the dream of yesterday is the hope of today and the reality of tomorrow. -Robert Goddard "A hybrid. A car for enthusiasts of armpit hair and brown rice." -Jeremy Clarkson "I swear by my pretty floral bonet, I will end you." -Mal from Firefly
Renato71 Posted April 30, 2010 Posted April 30, 2010 (edited) Is the first invention the pencil sharpener? Or the pencil itself? Almost yes, as it is a certain type of writing accessory :) In English "pencil" is a regular graphite pencil, and not this guys invention, not related to graphite. Also, pencil is much older, hehehe.
