RDM modification to M2KC

According to Wikipedia. M2KC radar just needs RDM (RADAR Display Marine?) modification to carry Exocet. So its possible for RAZBAM to add Exocet . Is VIggen can have RB-15, and Hornet have Harpoon.

BTW where is the LST on M2KC , when dropping LGB?

There are more differences than just the radar. And description of weapon system use with Exocet is very difficult to find (I tried).

Without LST , JTAC's marker laser is invisible. JTAC would use verbal, coord, or smoke. Thats OK for MK and Beluga CBU. But laser spot needs to be visible to pilot and to LGB seeker.

It certainly does not. Ask Tomcat pilots how they drop LGBs with buddy lasing from other planes.

You really don't need to see the laser point. All you need to know is the rough position of the target to CCRP drop in its vicinity. The JTAC's laser just does the terminal guiding.

 

The preferred way might be to set up an IP from a known waypoint in an easily visible place, so you can re-calibrate position just before drop. Otherwise a 'eyeball' CCRP designation is going to work as well.

This is easier, but it isn't mandatory. You can do without it, and it was done by several types of fighters in combat.

I see, for LGB, we would use CCRP mode (which is only mode available for non-retarded bombs). Provided the pilot and JTAC are both targeting same target.

Yes, the easiest way would be that the lazing unit gives you target coordinates.

Enter coordinates in PCN and you will be able to perform a CCRP designation to release GBU on target.
