In my User/Documents folder. Then it lists everything in my Docs folder. Why is it looking there??

The updater has a log file: autoupdate_log.txt

.. attach it so we can take a look rather than make guesses.

Here is my log file.

Strange, the Update Log does not show anything unusual, can you please show us the file "autoupdate_settings.cfg" that is on the DCS program folder?

For example, mine has this contents:

{
"download_dir": "E:\\DCS_Temp"
}

On my case, I use this line to tell the updater where I want to store the update files, so that it uses a different disk than the one that hold DCS.

Hi

Using your documents folder for a custom download location for DCS is a bad idea

{
"download_dir": "D:\\Richard\\Documents"
}

My advice if you have room on the disk dcs is using is to delete "autoupdate_settings.cfg" this will reset the download location to the default which is _downloads in the dcs install location.

or change the location for a folder that ONLY contains DCS related downloads.

Here is cfg.

Updater is looking at my D drive docs folder. Game is on C drive.

Hi,

BigNewy is correct, but I assume that you are short on space on the C: drive. So you may prefer to devote an empty folder as DCS download location, for example you can edit the config file so that it is this way:

{
"download_dir": "D:\\DCS_Temp"
}

This way it is easier in the future to recognize that this is a temporary data location.

Best regards,

Eduardo
