As a track-ir user, I find the head position just slightly too far forward. When I look down, the top of the RWR is cut off (and that's where the biggest threats tend to be). If the default head position was about 3 inches farther backwards, you could look down and easily see the RWR. (some of you might say, well just lean backwards and look down, but, not everyone has that much ability to move, even when using trackIR)... I have no idea if this is an issue with VR. 2tl7tdQ.png

Try this:

  1. lower the (virtual) seat position of your F/A-18C or
  2. lean a bit forward and center out your TrackIR; back in normal position your virtual head should be moved backwards

I use the throttle slider on my joystick as the zoom. I prefer to zoom out slightly from the initial position when I'm flying. Maybe something like this would work for you as well.

There are key bindings that let you adjust your camera position.

Can't remember them now but if you look around in the options you'll find them.

There's also a combination to save your current position. I think it's called "save camera angles".

Here's a forum thread on how to move your eye position: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=164892

Pasting the relevant portion here:

  • RCTRL + RSHFT + KP4,2,6,8 = Moves your eyepoint L,D,R,U respectively
  • RCTRL + RSHFT + KP*, KPMinus = Moves your eyepoint fore and aft
  • RALT + KP0 = Saves your current eyepoint position
  • KP5 Recenters your view (Bind to a joystick or button box button with Joy2Key or other remapper to make centering simple)

[Note, you shouldn't have to bind anything to hit KP5, that's taken care of by the Recenter VR Headset in the UI Layer controls.]
