bunraku Posted July 22, 2020 Posted July 22, 2020 Hi Accidentally turned on A/A mode and can't seem to change back to NAV mode. How do i do this please? Thanks
hughesj2 Posted July 22, 2020 Posted July 22, 2020 Press the AA master mode button again IIRC Cheers James
mongo52 Posted July 22, 2020 Posted July 22, 2020 Whichever master mode you have selected (A/A A/G) just press that button again to deselect and go back to NAV mode.
JIMJAM Posted July 23, 2020 Posted July 23, 2020 I can't get rid of CCIP on the screen even when going into the nav mode.
RaisedByWolves Posted July 23, 2020 Posted July 23, 2020 I can't get rid of CCIP on the screen even when going into the nav mode. Go into SMS page and deselect the weapon
bunraku Posted July 24, 2020 Author Posted July 24, 2020 Maybe being thick, but I am accidentally pressing the AIM-7 button on my Thrustmaster Hornet Joystick. When that happens I press the same AA buttons and the ones next to it on my HOTAS and although it cycles AA weapons I cannot get it back to NAV mode. However I can press the AA button the on the left of the cockpit and it goes back to NAV mode. Why can't I go back to NAV mode using the HOTAS?

I guess the designers felt there was no need for a pilot to quickly switch to Nav mode. HOTAS buttons are for quick-select actions. If you want to go from a combat mode back to a nav mode, you're out of combat and have time to reach and click a button. Besides, you don't want the weapon select switches to take you out of air-to-air mode by accident when trying to quickly select a weapon in combat. mongo52 Posted July 24, 2020 Posted July 24, 2020 Correct function. Weapon select switch will only put you into AA mode and select weapon assigned to that direction (if you have multiple it will step to next weapon of same type). Only way to get back to NAV mode is to deselect master mode light next to emergency jet button.
Gaf72 Posted February 2, 2022 Posted February 2, 2022 Check if you have gun boxed in stores. Was doing my head in as well, then saw gin boxed, unticked and back in nav 1

BuzzU Posted February 3, 2022 Posted February 3, 2022 Keep in mind the real pilot can push a button pretty quick and easy. He doesn't have to use a mouse. Buzz
