martinistripes Posted July 30, 2020 Posted July 30, 2020 Are the sound levels realistic by default? I can clearly hear the RIO pressing buttons and flicking switches. Seems unlikely with a helmet on, and the engines running. Been flying ED stuff for a long time but this is the first bit of 3rd party developer content I own. Really enjoying the module and attention to detail in the cockpit. Valve Index | RTX 4080 (Mobile) | i9-14900HX @ 2.20 GHz | 32GB RAM
viper2097 Posted July 31, 2020 Posted July 31, 2020 In all DCS planes you can hear it when you flick switches. That is not realistic, but it brings up the immersion as you are missing the haptic feedback. Steam user - Youtube I am for quality over quantity in DCS modules
Airhunter Posted July 31, 2020 Posted July 31, 2020 Yeah I too think the button sounds are way too loud.
IronMike Posted August 5, 2020 Posted August 5, 2020 It is a feature deliberately chosen to compensate for the lack of haptic feedback. If you would not hear them, the feedback for you would be void, although some would like that ofc. Truth be told, you would not hear a single switch most likely in a Jet. But in our humble opinion it adds immersion, because it lets you notice of cockpit changes that otherwise might get communicated or felt through your own hands. martinistripes Posted August 5, 2020 Author Posted August 5, 2020 I see there's a separate Switches volume slider now, so seems I can adjust to my liking anyway :D Valve Index | RTX 4080 (Mobile) | i9-14900HX @ 2.20 GHz | 32GB RAM

No, I mean hearing Jester or your RIO clicking his buttons. That feedback you absolutely don't need. I get it for stuff that you press in the pilot pit or vice versa.
