WRCRob Posted August 3, 2020 Posted August 3, 2020 I am sure that I am not alone in wanting to add additional "Red Force" carrier capable aircraft. My wish would be that ED would add a "Virtual Tail Hook" to one of the Mig variants (preferably the S) so that we could utilize it for carrier operations. I know that it would not be a full sim of the proper 29K/KR but it would at least allow for additional choice and a Fox 3 capable aircraft for Red Force naval ops. Given that this would be a coding update and not a visual update (although that would be great to get even a FC3 level 29K) I think that this could be done for minimal cost to ED.
МаксиM Posted September 2, 2020 Posted September 2, 2020 thats was great but mig29k thats testing plane, like SU-25K, and ED dont have eny documents for them
Steve Gee Posted September 7, 2020 Posted September 7, 2020 It was my favorite plane in Flanker 2.5. 2 "These are NOT 1 to 1 replicas of the real aircraft, there are countless compromises made on each of them" - Senior ED Member Modules - Damn near all of them (no Christian Eagle or Yak) System - Ryzen 9 7900X, 64Gig DDR5 RAM, RTX-4090, 3 32" monitors @1440, default settings of High (plus some)
Mars Exulte Posted September 8, 2020 Posted September 8, 2020 thats was great but mig29k thats testing plane, like SU-25K, and ED dont have eny documents for them MiG-29K was not a ''testing'' plane, it's a full fledged carrier version of the MiG-29 and among the most modern versions produced. They were exported to India, a few dozen of them if I remember right, as well as flown in limited numbers by the Russians. 1 Де вороги, знайдуться козаки їх перемогти. 5800x3d * 3090 * 64gb * Reverb G2

Indeed and its actually a carrier version of the MiG-29M, but maybe МаксиM was referring to the idea of just putting a hook on the regular MiG-29 - during the initial testing back in the late eighties, they did employ such an aircraft called "MiG-29KVP"(just for testing ramp take-off/arrested landing). They were exported to India, a few dozen of them if I remember right, as well as flown in limited numbers by the Russians.Yes you remember correctly. The Russians have two naval fighter air regiments(24 units each) - the 279 KIAP(Su-33s) and the 100 KIAP(MiG-29K/KUBs). 1
