Mobius010 Posted August 21, 2020 Posted August 21, 2020 Hello all, I have a problem with my Rift S. My FPS is a stable 40 or sometimes 80 when I am up in the air but mostly 40. When I take off the Rift S from my head and put it back on after a few minutes or even a minute the FPS has dropped to 10 and is just unplayable. I also get a big FPS drop (drop to 30 or even 20) when I look at the F10 or other camera's (this doesn't happen all the time). I can even get a steady FPS drop to 20 or 30 when I am in a dogfight and move my head. I can't play for a few hours straight without a big FPS drop. Does anyone else have those kind of problem? Or know a fix. MemphisBelle Posted August 22, 2020 Posted August 22, 2020 You know, these questions always require a little more information than only your Problem. On such issues ALWAYS provide Information like: - PC Specs (CPU, GPU, VRAM, RAM, PSU, cooling) - How current are the drivers/Firmware. - Are you experiencing the same issues in other Games Only then People are at all able to help or give advice. To make sure that you never ever forget about your specs, put them in your Signature ;). My first guess is that you´ve to low RAM or VRAM and this could cause the issue...but to say more I´d need to know your specs. BlackSharkDen | BSD Discord | DCS Tutorial Collection

I have updated my signature with my current setup. My drivers and firmware are up to date of both Rift S and my GPU. javelina1 Posted August 23, 2020 Posted August 23, 2020 OP - see my sig/specs. I'm almost similar. DCS also likes higher CPU speeds. A 9700K begs to be OC. If you're running stock, you're at 3.6ghz. You can safely go to 4.9ghz (all cores), without an issue. With higher end coolers, some folks go to 5.0 and 5.1. (I'm not familiar with the KF version, so I'll look it up). Also, please share your DCS settings too. thx, -Jav MSI MAG Z790 Carbon, i9-13900k, NH-D15 cooler, 64 GB CL40 6000mhz RAM, MSI RTX4090, Yamaha 5.1 A/V Receiver, 4x 2TB Samsung 980 Pro NVMe, 1x 2TB Samsung 870 EVO SSD, Win 11 Pro, TM Warthog, Virpil WarBRD, MFG Crosswinds, 43" Samsung 4K TV, 21.5 Acer VT touchscreen, TrackIR, Varjo Aero, Wheel Stand Pro Super Warthog, Phanteks Enthoo Pro2 Full Tower Case, Seasonic GX-1200 ATX3 PSU, PointCTRL, Buttkicker 2, K-51 Helicopter Collective Control

Bearskin Posted August 23, 2020 Posted August 23, 2020 (edited) Try it with PD under the VR in-game tab @ 1.5 and turn SS in tray tool back to 0, and pre rendered frames back to 1 in nvidia panel. Infact turn nvidia panel back to defaults and just change to use maximum power. Edited August 23, 2020 by Bearskin Z790, 13700K, RTX4080, 32 gig RAM, Warthog, WarBRD base , Virpil Pedals, Pico 4
MemphisBelle Posted August 24, 2020 Posted August 24, 2020 reduce Clutter/Grass down to a minimum get Chimney at least 1. 1 gives you a good glimpse of Wind directions without burning too much performance reduce AA to 0, you don't need that in VR Res. of Cockpits can be reduced to 512 for VR Visible Range shouldn´t be on Ultra...play around with it BlackSharkDen | BSD Discord | DCS Tutorial Collection
