pete_auau Posted August 30, 2020 Posted August 30, 2020 Using track ir and watched a utube and he has mentioned he has locked his sim at refresh rate 60 to stop the slight stutters you get, but unable to find any where in the sim to change it
twistking Posted August 30, 2020 Posted August 30, 2020 "v-sync" in the graphics options will set dcs to your monitor sefresh rate. it's commonly 60, but newer monitors may have higher refresh rates in which case v-sync will not help with track-ir stutter. My improved* wishlist after a decade with DCS *now with 17% more wishes compared to the original
Mars Exulte Posted August 30, 2020 Posted August 30, 2020 Bear in mind V-sync generally harms performance and introduces inout lag. It's not a cure-all free of side effects. Де вороги, знайдуться козаки їх перемогти. 5800x3d * 3090 * 64gb * Reverb G2

That's all I've done and it's perfect, monitor still at 144hz. i7 8700k @ 5.0ghz. Strix GTX1080Ti. 32GB RAM @ 3600. 2x Hyper X SSD’s with DCS on one. Oculus Rift S. Asus PG278-QR. Boosterdog Posted August 30, 2020 Posted August 30, 2020 (edited) Bear in mind V-sync generally harms performance and introduces inout lag. It's not a cure-all free of side effects. YMMV. Vysnc is the only way in which i can play DCS relatively free of uneven frame pacing and stutter at 60hz. Capping frames and fast sync are no goes. Both introduce jitters. On my crappy TV that i play on I notice little or no input lag over what the google introduces itself but Id imagine this does start to matter the higher your monitor is able to display at and the lower its response time although in a flight sim Im not sure how much. Pete_auau, have a look in the Nvidia control panel and set it in the program specific tab in the manage 3D settings. Be careful to select the exe that launches DCS for you also. Personally I dont bother with frame capping and use only vsync, then adjust in game settings where I can ensure I stay able to produce 60 fps. Leaving the Low Latency option off will keep the pre-render frame level to that set by the game and may also help reduce TIR jitters when moving your head quickly. I beleive the old "Max pre rendered frames" option is still working if you use the 3rd Party Nvida Profile Inspector but never go above a setting of 3 or at worst 4. Changng the VR pre-rendered frames from the default 1 to either 3 or application controlled has also futher helped elimiate my TIR jitters. I dont know why. It shouldnt as from all ive read its purely a VR thing. But it does. At least for me.
