Adding JDAM to the F-14B?

I've heard that the F-14B has GBU-31 JDAM operational capability, does Heatblur plan to add this capability to the DCS F-14B?

 

If that were to happen, would it be dropable by JESTER AI?

Indeed, it's missing the NAV system upgrade that Tomcats recieved at around 2000, which included GPS.

In order for the F-14 to use JDAMs we need at least the F-14B/U upgrade. The bombs themselves are not the issue however. The main issue is that parts of that upgrade and consequently the F-14D are still classified. Mainly this is the PTID which was a RIO upgrade and can be seen in several different configurations in these pictures and parts were presumably carried over to the F-15E and the SparrowHawk HUD which can be seen in the last picture from FXS.

 

If this along with the AWG-70 radar in the F-15 wasn't the case then we probably wouldn't need the B/U because we probably would have just gotten a F-14D instead ;)

No. Believe it or not, F-14Ds did not have PTIDs initially, but the good old "fishbowl". PTIDs were only procured for B aircraft and eventually found their way into A and D models also. It was only after enough A/B airframes got retired that the whole D fleet got equipped with PTIDs

Anyone notice that the high viz Jolly Rogers livery says it's an F-14B Upgrade?
