Ok Gents, my birthday is approaching and I thought I would ask the "War Department" for Headset with Mic.

What brand of headset with mic should I get? :joystick:

Keep in mind this must pass the "WAF", (Wife Acceptance Factor). Somewhere between $75-$150 should pass the WAF.

Thanks for the input.

Hayaa!

If You are looking for headset for real long gaming hours, awesome sound quality, or something which is in Oh My God range... Here it is!

You wont get wrong with SENNHEISER There are moments when I'm not sure are they ON my head or not... Your price tag should fit the budget ... my choice would be either 156 or 166, totally sweet dude!

I used to fly with Sennheiser PC350 but if you plan any IFRs to extend your airborne time I suggest something lighter with smaller ear caps. These tend to press against your ear so much that you won't be able to hear almost no outside sounds but your ear shells might suffer and go dumb after 4 or 5 hours.

Edit:

These headphones fell to the ground and fell apart so now I use this simple Logitech model:

Very cheap, light and good. For this kind of money you won't cry if they ever break!

"Fall on the ground" and "I sat on them" is not the same :P

Go for cheep one and latter will have to buy another one... I'm not saying Logitech is not good, in fact I had some very nice headset from Logitech, but the cable got damaged, and left side sound was gone... Man, I had 4-5 different headsets, cheap ones you can't have on for long time, they hurt your ears, I even had wounds on my ears from some cheap "crap". And then one of my clan mate recommended SENNHEISER 166 and when I got them I understood that the search is over... made to last, superior comfortability, awesome sound quality, build in sound card, 3 m. long cable, USB adapter! So either you plug it directly in your sound card or via USB adapter in any USB slot... anyway, those are not cheapest, but you wont regret I promise :D

Speedlink Medusa headphones. 5.1 as wrote by the poster above me.

But keep one thing in mind. There are two versions of Medusa. One is USB powered, and the second one got its own amplifier. I'd suggest you to go for amplifier one. The price difference was around 7 € here.

I've got same Canyons too, bought it a year and a half ago, it was really cheap (cca 13 eur).

However I didn't even open the package and completely forgot about it, Boberro you reminded me of it with your post. :)
