Boberro Posted April 23, 2008 Posted April 23, 2008 Unfortunetely :C. No money - no chance to survive. For machines. For people. 2 Reminder: Fighter pilots make movies. Bomber pilots make... HISTORY! :D | Also to be remembered: FRENCH TANKS HAVE ONE GEAR FORWARD AND FIVE BACKWARD :D ಠ_ಠ ツ
Geier Posted April 23, 2008 Posted April 23, 2008 AFAIK These are not russians but ukranians planes. They were ccut up after NATO and EU decision. They promised Ukraine the introduction into Western World in exchange for its strategic and nuclear weapons 1
Pilotasso Posted April 23, 2008 Posted April 23, 2008 A bit depressing that these bold designs are put to pasture but the world is actualy a better place without them. .
mvsgas Posted April 23, 2008 Posted April 23, 2008 This happens all over the world I guess. Sad to see what was once the most advance designs in aviation being sold for scrap metal. Look around Davis-Monthan in Google Map, your are bound to see many aircraft like this tear down for scrap metal. http://maps.google.com/ 1 To whom it may concern, I am an idiot, unfortunately for the world, I have a internet connection and a fondness for beer....apologies for that. Thank you for you patience. Many people don't want the truth, they want constant reassurance that whatever misconception/fallacies they believe in are true..

Vekkinho Posted May 1, 2008 Posted May 1, 2008 NSCode, I never knew Yugoslav Fishbeds had a camo like that (brown/green)! Looks like East German camo! Isn't that Iraqi MiG-23 next to it?! I remember one of this birds in 1990 made a test flight in SOKO (now ZTZ) near Pleso AB -Zagreb piloted by Omer I Velicanstveni! I was there with my dad who worked in SOKO! Plane took off from SOKO's plant runway, turned 180° somewhere over Adriatic sea, accelerated to M2.1 over Zagreb and reached into Hungary over Balaton lake where it made a turn back towards Zagreb. nscode Posted May 1, 2008 Posted May 1, 2008 Yes it is the Iraqi MiG-23, and the lower MiG-21 is Iraqi also. Just read the description ;) They never returned to Iraq. I belive the 23 is displayed at the Aviation museum near Niklola Tesla airport, Belgrade. Never forget that World War III was not Cold for most of us.
