Hello guys!

Im new to this forum and i was hoping to get some help here.. I have been hanging around here for a long time without joining but now i´m here.

So here is the thing.

Some freinds of mine have made a new 3d model for lock on, which i am skinning at the moment "project is a sectret for the time beeing"

But we would like to know how we make it possible to have like 6 different paint schemes assigned to the model? ie so you can choose from 6 different skins in lock on. as u usually can do.

Does anyone know what i mean and how to do it in that case.

I would appreicate this help very much.

I think it depends on which aircraft you are trying to skin sounds to me like it might be a new A-10 or a Mig -29

Remember the 346 Fire Fighters, Medics & Police who died on 9-11.......

I can tell you that its not a new a10 or a mig 29....... maybe you are sorry to hear that,, but this is the case :D .... its not an aircraft you would think of in the first place.

Does anyone have an ide of how to do this.. i have been in contact with the mod maker of the VBA mod.... but i havent got a reply yet.

GrandSurf wrote it down in an other topic. The x.skin file should look like this:

Found on other Forum, hope this help ;).

...to use multiple skins first give a name to the material you used for skinnig your plane for example "fuselage"

then create a file named yourplanename.skins in your shapes folder

in this file put that

CITATION

models

{

lod = {"yourplanelomfile", 1000000};

collision = "yourplanecollisionfile";

}

argument

{

argument = 70;

skin

{

value = 0.0;<== First skin

material = {"your material name", "Standart", "skinfile1.bmp"};

}

skin

{

value = 0.1; <== second skin

material = {"your material name", "Standart", "skinfile2.bmp"};

}

}

That's all folk

depending on the plane you choose you may need to modify your MEINIT.XML to add more skins slots to understand how to do that go here and search for adding skins in this forum.

Good luck

Btw, is the plane an old, or a new one? Or a fictional sci-fi plane? Have we got this aircraft already in FC, but with a bad model? :smartass:
