Thinking about getting GTA IV

Ok...so it's not really a sim.

 

Anyway, I've never played any of the GTA iterations. It looks interesting though--and the reviews are off the charts, many of them talking about the title taking video gaming to the next level--likes it's some sort of transcendent experience.

 

Any recommendations?

Whoof! Mate! I doesn't need recommendations - it is MUST-HAVE! But PC users have to wait about 4 month for their version. Yesterday was the release date for PS3 and Xbox360.

Was up half the night walking around Liberty City--wow, gaming really has taken a few steps towards the next level with this title.

The benchmark for everything cool and great in console and sandbox gaming in general. If they release a PC version I'll get it for sure if I ever own a 360 or PS3 for sure too!

 

I've had every version at least for PS2 and its one of the greatest "do what you want" series ever. You dont have to play the game to have endless hours of fun with it. Blasting Vice City with the generic Apache helo was a definite favorite all while listening to Curtis Blow or Anthrax! Its a Madhouse..............

I'm planning on getting it when it comes out for PC. I liked GTA III, but hated the ones after it (1980s Miami Vice mobster? West Coast Gangsta? No thanks!). I'm glad to see it returning to Vice City.
