Girlfriend took our daughter and went on a weekend trip with one of her friends and her kids (all within COVID-19 regulations of course)

So... That means:

Raven One Weekend! :punk::cheer3nc::beer::pilotfly:

Read the book a few years ago and just now finished mission 1 and 2.

Blown away already by the quality.

How on earth do you manage to make an allied flight turn into an enemy in mid flight?! This is wizardry!

One small thing on mission 2.

Once I managed to find the enemy contact (initially I was intercepting my own tanker ), I was getting low on fuel. When asked to refuel before RTB, I accepted. But there was no active tanker in my radio menu. It was still flying around, I just couldn't contact it. I ended up doing a successful case III recovery on fumes, which was also awesome!

Just finished mission 5

This is, by far, the most immersive campaign I've ever played in DCS.

Possible spoilers below:

I actually felt sorry for Prince

First, he forgot the radios

Second, I start nagging about his not so perfect turn

Then, I virtually shot him down 4 times

And to top it all off... well if you read the book, you know what happened next

This mission gave me the goosebumps and made me relive the feeling I had when reading the novel.

Truly a piece of art!

Would you recommend reading the book before playing the campaign?

Well, I won't say it's an absolute must (to be completely honest, personally, it's not the best military aviation book I've read. But it's still good).

However, if you do plan on reading it, I'd say yes, you'd better read it before or while going though this campaign.

Within the campaign briefings, BD added notes about which chapters you should have read before doing that particular mission

Thanks sirrah. I have to say, I am pretty happy with M05 and how it looks, though it was a damn hard job to make everything click together there..

Well, you did an excellent job!

Apart from the fun in playing this campaign, your missions are also very interesting on mission editing level. Your way of creating these missions (especially how you deal with the wingmans) open a new perspective for me. As a mediocre mission editor I'm learning a lot from your missions
