prof_laser Posted November 10, 2020 Posted November 10, 2020 Latest OpenBeta, no mods. Confirmed with Snoopy, Puma and others from the 476th this is a bug. I currently cannot create a track file, will add one later if necessary. Multiple guys from the 476th independently confirmed that they see the same behaviour. HMCS is SOI, slew the HDC to somewhere on the ground, let it ground stabilize. TMS RIGHT short to create a markpoint at HDC location. This creates a markpoint at HMCS B/S (center) location though. I cannot quote the official RL A-10C manual, but it apparently says that when the HMCS is made SOI, and a HDC is displayed in HMD (no Maltese cross, but the cursor), TMS RIGHT short should create a markpoint at HDC, not at the center. 1
Puma Posted November 10, 2020 Posted November 10, 2020 The DCS A-10C manual pg 401 also suggests that tms-right-short should create the mark point at the hdc location, not the los crosshair. 2 Custom Pit 476 Recruiting i9-12900KF, 32 GB DDR5, Gigabyte Aorus Z690 Master, Gigabyte RTX 2080 Ti, 1TB Sabrent Roket 4+ 2x750GB RAID-0, TrackIR 5 /w clip, CRG9 49” Curved Ultrawide Flight Display+15" Touchscreen+17" Gauges display, Thrustmaster Warthog+7.5cm, Saitek Pro Combat Pedals, Streamdeck, Butt Kicker and pneumatic G-Seat
Snoopy Posted November 10, 2020 Posted November 10, 2020 CDU Mark Points. The HDC can be used to create a CDU Mark Point. If TMS-RIGHT/SHORT is commanded while the HMCS is SOI and a valid HDC symbol is displayed on the HMD (i.e., the Digital Terrain Elevation Data is valid for the HDC position) a CDU Mark Point is created at that position.
