Posted November 21, 2020 Posted November 21, 2020 Currently in DCS, the FLIR footage is stabilised so that the horizon seen through the pods feed is always in line with the aircraft, so its always running from one wing to the other so to say. -DCS, you can see the horizon in the FLIR is staying fixed to the airframe. However in RL footage we can see a different behaviour, the horizon seen in the pod is shown to be level to the horizon outside the aircraft. -Legacy hornets, difficult to see but it shows how the feed isnt always level. Some of these shots are canted right over and some are even upside down as it overflies. -Super hornets, but shows the point I am making very clearly. You can see the horizon on the FLIR clearly staying pinned to the real horizon. What this means is that in DCS if I roll 90 degrees the FLIR picture will not change, but IRL rolling 90 degrees will result in the picture rolling 90 degrees on the screen (as it stays level relative to the outside world).tpodbug1.trk 5 476th Discord | 476th Website | Swift Youtube Ryzen 5800x, RTX 4070ti, 64GB, Quest 2
