A2597 Posted November 25, 2020 Posted November 25, 2020 So managed to snag a RTX 3070, and had been tempering my expectations coming from a htx 1080(non ti), paired with R5 3600 and 16gb ram. I fly 100% vr on a oculus CV1. before: flat shadows, max trees and grass, 1.3pd, 2x msaa, no ssaa, etc. Usually FPS in the 30s on ground. Dubai is always challenging, again 30s it common. Now? same as above but 1.5pd, and added ssaa, and im locked at 45fps. Turning off the smoothing and I have fps in the 50s to 60s flying through Dubai! Did not expect that big of a difference! 2

Nice of you to share your experience with the rtx3070 in vr. I had that card in mind because I did not want to do a complete upgrade with my present 650w psu. The 8g vram got me thinking again and now looking at amd 6800. So care sharing how the vram on the 3070 is doing in vr. Vram usage is about the only thing making me uncertain about the 3070. Also there is plan for the HP reverb G2 along the way. Lurker Posted November 25, 2020 Posted November 25, 2020 6800 has some bug in dcs now, it does not boost at normal clock in DCS. VRAM cannot decide the performance. This is not true. There is one guy who has problems with his card, and another person in the thread posted that they did not have any problems with their card. Please refrain from making blanket statements. 1 Specs: Win10, i5-13600KF, 32GB DDR4 RAM 3200XMP, 1 TB M2 NVMe SSD, KFA2 RTX3090, VR G2 Headset, Warthog Throttle+Saitek Pedals+MSFFB2 Joystick.

Max Thunder Posted November 26, 2020 Posted November 26, 2020 Thanks a lot for your experience . I am now on a 1070ti and a Quest 1. I also thinking of buying a 3070 or a 3080. Can you also please show your complete settings in DCS before and after the 3070? And what module are you playing? Reason is that I am not sure if the 8GB of the 3070 are enough for the F14 and SuperCarrier. 12700k | 3090 | 64GB DDR4 | WD SN850X | Quest 3
