You really hurt my feelings but unfortunatelly it's true. Poles can't play football as white men can't jump.

 

The teamplay and tactical thinking is terrible, that's a fact. However I can't agree that Poles in general can't play football. Double check who are the attackers in German team :)

I think this is the weirdest thing of Euro 2008, that Poles were scoring against Poles in German-Poland match.

wow it turned very emotional in the second half. Yeah Cristiano scored but he was skidish most of the match. Deco and Nuno Gomes were the 2 best players.

 

Peter che best on chech side was a monster. Overal chech players had immense stamina and speed, It came down to criativity alone to save the day.

 

My analysis was that everybody wants to play like greece! :D The turks were not used to that tactic and they broke early. I think the result was overblown compared to the equilibrium in most of the match.

 

My congrats for the chechs. I still think they will qualify also.

Yeah at first I smelled a "draw coalition" but that ref was pissing me off big time.. WTF,, I wanted to slap him seriously. CZE's were a little rough and I think they had like half the team covering Renaldo.. Good result in the end and I hope Portugal work on defending set plays .. becasue if they come up against Germany with that performance the fat lady will stop tuning up and start singing.

As for Euro2008, Croatia beat us both times - no problems. If England cannot beat Macedonia at home or Israel away, then we don't deserve to be in Switzerland/Austria. Our choice of manager was poor that is a major part of it I feel. The English media wanted an English manager when Sven Joran Ericsson went. Our Federation should have told the media to get stuffed. I don't think English managers are currently good enough to work at the very top level. Look at the top 4 teams of the Premier League -

Manchester United - Ferguson (Scottish)

Chelsea - Mourinho(Portugal) / Avram Grant(Israel)

Arsenal - Arsene Wenger(French)

Liverpool - Rafa Benitez(Spanish)

 

I don't care who is manager of England as long as he is successful, he can be from another planet for all I care, results are what matters. Ericsson took us to the last World Cup 1/4 finals and we were unlucky to go out to Portugal on penalties. Yet the media hated him simply because he was not English - absolute madness.

Do Portugal have a Portugeuse manager? Do Russia have a Russian manager? Are THEY at Euro2008??

I think the coach was only half the problem, swiching Sven for Maclaren changed little (even then for worse). The team was made up of superstars that didnt work in the same wave length and seem to be always nervous after memories of past traumas on the pitch. When that happens its time to change the entire player selection along with the coach.

 

Its hard to find courage for that though. English media is too atatched to the most remarkable and famous, and so are the fans.

 

Just look at Cristiano Ronaldo, gets all the bells and whistles even when he plays lowsy, wich he did most of this game and usualy does when playing other than United.

McClaren for me was too in-experienced to move upto international level and help the players cope with the different pressure of playing for England rather than club.

He played to the medias wish of chopping Beckham and tried to make the Lampard-Gerrard midfield work to his ultimate downfall.

 

Under Capello the team now seems more balanced and confident with the majority of the same players.

 

Im backing Spain and Sweden during this Euro.:)

CR was a crucial part of every major Portugal play. The problem is when a player like Renaldo doesn't score all the time people think they are just lazy. But with the amount of defending that goes on around Renaldo tends to leave room for other players like Deco to move in and I have to say almost every shot CR made at the CZE goal was bang on target which must have made the entire defense including the goalie shit scared.

 

As for England well I agree with what has already been said but .. how good is Beckham and dare I say Roonie. They play well for their clubs but as international players I don't see them do anything special or even mediocre. I know they are super stars of course, I mean when your Girlfriend gets a TV show becasue you play football then you're at the top of the sports fame ladder but I don't think these players are as good as their girlfriends and wifes think they are.

 

When England get a Manager that can stick a finger or two up to the tabloids and hire players that can compete on an international level then England will be in with a chance that better reflects the ability of the premiereship players.
