Darren E Posted December 30, 2020 Posted December 30, 2020 Hello, Good morning. Wanted to ask a bit of a noob question, I have quite a low spec GFX card for Oculus Rift S 1050ti. Question is: if i upgrade to the 1660ti will i get better resolution? As at the moment, I can fly and have some dog fights, its not very clear, and struggle to see planes and anything in the distance. Petty sure this is due to having a lower spec PC, but just wanted to be sure. Silly question I guess? Cant really upload any images for it, so I am hoping you follow what I mean. Getting a new card is well on the books. Any feedback on this would be very much a appreciated. Regards D
Taz1004 Posted December 30, 2020 Posted December 30, 2020 Well... it's silly in that upgrade will always improve quality. And I'm not sure if you're considering 1660ti because you found a great deal or not but at its retail price ($699), there are better options in that price range now. Availability of those better options are another issue so you may have to wait a bit longer. Better Smoke - Better Trees Caucasus - Better Trees Syria - Better Trees Mariana - Clear Canopy Glass
Darren E Posted December 30, 2020 Author Posted December 30, 2020 Thank you, yeah very new to VR so wondered if its was a VR thing, and I was expecting too much. I would happily take advise on what people would recommend for a "reasonable" price upgrade with what's out there? Thank you. Regards D
speed-of-heat Posted December 30, 2020 Posted December 30, 2020 i would save up a bit more, and get a 1080ti they are going "cheap" or a 2080 card or some of the new 3x cards coming down the pipe, which look to be excellent value. 1 minute ago, Darren E said: Thank you, yeah very new to VR so wondered if its was a VR thing, and I was expecting too much. Regards D i would say that depends on what your expectation is, but generally at any given settings set in DCS you can likely divide it by 3 for VR ...
