QuiGon Posted December 30, 2020 Posted December 30, 2020 Any ETA when the first jet(s) will recieve the new DM and what jet(s) will get it first? 1 Intel i7-12700K @ 8x5GHz+4x3.8GHz + 32 GB DDR5 RAM + Nvidia Geforce RTX 2080 (8 GB VRAM) + M.2 SSD + Windows 10 64Bit DCS Panavia Tornado (IDS) really needs to be a thing!
schurem Posted December 30, 2020 Posted December 30, 2020 I hope the A-10 gets it first. That and the Su-25 need it most, as they get shot up most and are most likely to survive the hits in a meaningful way. Something like an F/A-18C will just cease functioning on any hit. And while it'd be interesting to have it do so in all kinds of interesting ways, the end result of any of those checklists will be CTRL-E anyway. So why bother? I5 9600KF, 32GB, 3080ti, G2, PointCTRL

Because there are certain jets around that still rely on guns-only engagement in DCS, like F-86 and MiG-15 mostly. These could definitly benefit from an improved DM.
schurem Posted December 31, 2020 Posted December 31, 2020 (edited) You are quite right of course, and even for fragile things like a viper or a hornet, it would be nice to see the jet break in myriad interesting ways. We might even find that while all gen4 jets are fragile, some are less so than others.. A better simulation of missile warheads should hopefully go hand in hand with this.
