Communicate to Tanker. What am i missing?

Hello everyone.

 

First day testing and learning how to set the F16.

No way to communicate with the tanker

What is done:

1-Easy com set on the mission editor

2-Tanker frequency set on 251 000MHZ

3-F-16 frequency set to 251 000MHZ

4-I have few M2000C on the map and the com with the tanker works fine.

I have the Thrustmaster Warthog joystick. On my throttle I have a switch, if I push it down I transmit in VHF, if a press it up I transmit in UHF. If the receiving station (in your instance the refueling aircraft) is on UHF but I transmit in VHF, the station won't respond.

You need to make sure you’re using the right tanker. The KC-135MPRS used for the Mirage 2000 wont talk to the F-16 as it cannot refuel it. You can only refuel from a stock KC-135.

It only sprung to mind because I’ve done the very same thing fairly recently lol. I’ve only been flying DCS for 12 years... I’ll get the hang of it eventually!

Ah, nice. They must have changed it recently.

 

It used to be possible to call any tanker with any (refuelable) plane (and take fuel of course too).

Yea, they changed it to prevent male-to-male or female-to-female refueling.
