ex81 Posted January 2, 2021 Posted January 2, 2021 I think it`s time to get the ability to park the jet backwards, the way AI is doing it. When player parks on an elevator he is standing ther forever until lucklly an AI enters it and makes the thing go down. But then the player looks foolish because there is no way to act and drive into the ship. Please ED give us a way to act more realistic on the carrier. One possibility I see is the following: After landing on the carrier, lifting the hook , folding the wings and leaving the "runway", you press a special key (or a combination) and the player turns into AI, which is driving the rest and parking with the butt in the right direction. What goes up, must come down ! QuiGon Posted January 3, 2021 Posted January 3, 2021 If it's supposed to be more realistic, then the pilot would have to get out of the jet before the jet gets moved on the elevator 1 Intel i7-12700K @ 8x5GHz+4x3.8GHz + 32 GB DDR5 RAM + Nvidia Geforce RTX 2080 (8 GB VRAM) + M.2 SSD + Windows 10 64Bit DCS Panavia Tornado (IDS) really needs to be a thing!

DragonFlySlayer Posted January 3, 2021 Posted January 3, 2021 (edited) Would it be possible or is it in the works to have the crew connect a tow bar and tow it and stow it. Maybe too, All the crew could also move all the aircrafts down to the hanger and chalk n chain. Storm at sea, restricted movement on the ship. Everything secured for sea. On the ship, you would taxi to the bow and shut down there IRL. It would be nice to have tractors and tow bars and such but pilots very rarely ride brakes which makes this a moot point sort of! And unless you have space on the deck edge where other aircraft are, push backs are rare as well. We used to do it by hand with the legacy Hornets, couldn't do it with the Rhinos. DO it or Don't, but don't cry about it. Real men don't cry!
ex81 Posted January 3, 2021 Author Posted January 3, 2021 Good replys all ! But whatever the pros and cons are, PLEASE more realistic in the future. What goes up, must come down ! That would mean we don't go down the elevator at all, as the pilot exits the aircraft before the ground crew takes it down into the hangar. That is if it goes down into the hangar at all and doesn't just get parked on the deck till the next flight. In any way, the supercarrier module is still in early access and still incomplete. Besides the airboss station (which could be seen in the recent traler) and a few other things we still don't have a true working hangar, so I would wait for that and see what ED does with it.
