Actually there is audio feedback from the crew but because we "are" a russian crew the feedback is in russian. Would they use a "blue" nation MI-8 for the campaigns(or tie the crew audio to the selected cockpit language) you would hear the guiding you in to the cargo, height of cargo above ground, cargo swings x meter left/right/front/back, x meter to drop zone....

Still I was able to make out the difference when the crew chief is saying "the cargo is swinging" and "cargo is stable". But just knowing that the cargo is swinging doesn't help if you can't tell how to correct it: you could make it worse by trying to "correct" it.

That gives you a little appreciation for the developers who have to figure out bug reports and trying to reproduce it on their internal builds, I'd say.

With so many different hardware and software configurations that can mess stuff up. I don't have an explanation for it either: I can only report what I see on my end

Yeah, that must be frustrating for both sides. Customers who can't use X for Y time getting upset and the developer getting frustrated because he can't fix something if it's not broken on his side/can't reproduce to find the problem. 

 

I hope this workes out for you all, i had also a little test in heavy storm conditions, i could pick up the cargo and fly with it......so weather settings is not the culprit. Do you use curves for your controles, maybe that causes problems? I only use linear input on all axis.

I did Oilfield mission 8 last night and had similar issues with the logs. The barrels and fuel were ok, except the fuel started rotating really fast in a way that didn't seem physically possible. With the logs, I'd be flying nice and straight with no extra input and suddenly they'd just fly up high to one side. My sling loading skills aren't great and I was flying at 150, which is probably a bit too fast according to an above comment, but the swinging did seem kind of odd regardless.

Hey guys, I also have an issue with slingloading. I decided to play Oilfield campaign again and for some reason the external load seems to have no weight. For example I am taking tension at 1m/s and when the rope is tight the helicopter lifts of the cargo (generator) without me touching the colective. Any ideas on what could be wrong???

External cargos are broken right now unfortunately :/, waiting for a fix...

Yes this is a known issue with existing bug reports. As sLYAFa said, we're all waiting for this to get fixed.

Sorry, I am just now reading this...   The trick to avoid excessive swinging of external loads is to maintain constant airspeed, and especially trim...  Step on the 'Ball'....   Keep the trim ball centered and avoid high airspeeds and you will find the oscillations will be less severe.   Hope this helps

That was not the issue. It was a bug (no cargo weight or something), and now it's fixed.
