Very nice, Ice. It's a pity that the US aircraft can't have a Bullseye programmed in.

In Lock On, Russian aircraft can not have Bullseye programed either!

what I do in my missions is use waypoint 1 as bullseye for both teams. then using HSI it is very easy to give references

I think if consider that action takes place in USSR period, than Ukraine and Georgia are still parts of it. If after USSR, than Russian territory should be marked as Russian Federation.

Get political?

Ice it has nothing to do with politics, but with geography ;)

After 1991, the Soviet Union(USSR) ceased to exist and was split up into several independant countries such as "Russia", "Ukraine" and "Georgia" just to mention the ones situated on the current Lock-on map. :)

Your idea is great, but if your aim is to raise situational awareness, you should replace the "USSR" label on the map with "Russia" :D

Just a suggestion :)

This sim is set in its own fictional timeline.

Poor guy. Does all this hard work, and this is the thanks he gets. I'll give him a rep!

(I guess now would be an ungrateful moment to note that the word "Georgia" isn't actually in Georgia...)

What's with the nine-month bump? Is this connected to Britney's pregnancy?

Thankyou SK for the rep points.

I'm afraid my geography isnt very good. I will try to find the original files on the weekend and make them nmore accurate

Lockon has no fixed timeline, it is neither coldwar or post coldwar.

Bullseye can only realistically work in lockon if some objects are revealed on the map. Since the way bullseye works in real life cannot be implemented without changes to avionics of aircraft. An exception to this is the Mig 29 and Su27/33 whose radar display might allow for a rough representation of the use of bullseye in game by using a certain waypoint. The way bullseye works on F4 you can get it to work on lockon by using the distance/bearing function on the F10 view. eg 2 bandits bearing 120 from bullseye 80miles. So you could place the cursor and left click over the bullseye marker location on the map(it has to be an obvious object for a reference point) and drag it on that bearing and distance to work out where the boggie is in relation to your own aircraft on the map. Thats the only way accurately that this can be done, if you hide your friendly aircraft from the map then you are wasting your time since as your own location is not at an accurate point. Also calls with reference to bullseye can't be done accurately to pass on to other aircraft if they stray from their flight plan too far.

Yes, it would be nice if the bullseye was implemented into the sim and the

position of the cursor on the MFD would be linked to the bullseye`s readout

at the bottom of the screen, but... for now I`d be happy to see the NAV

system working properly. Especially HSI giving correct indications regardless

of modes you`re in. Then, at least we could get the bullseye/waypoint

position to our own a/c and roughly estimate radar contact`s position without

switching to "NAV" mode and losing your SA.
