o2r_basti Posted January 29, 2021 Posted January 29, 2021 (edited) Hello as the title says I have Problems with my HUD. I got a new screen with a resolution of 5120*1440 and the hud looks too thick now and i also have too zoom out a lot to have a nice view in the pit. Is there a way to change this somehow? dorianR666 Posted January 29, 2021 Posted January 29, 2021 and your DDIs are white... are you using some mods? CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 1600X GPU: AMD RX 580
o2r_basti Posted January 29, 2021 Author Posted January 29, 2021 the mods do not affect the hud its this way with and without mods
SirJ Posted January 29, 2021 Posted January 29, 2021 it looks like your seating position is far back. Since the technology of the HUD makes its content appear the same size all the time, if you go back, the HUD glasses get smaller, but the HUD symbology stays the same, thus leading to an "enlarged" feeling. Solution: Try to move your seating position closer to the HUD - also if you use TrackIR or similar try to reset the position 1
o2r_basti Posted January 29, 2021 Author Posted January 29, 2021 i use the slider on the warthog throttle if its in the center position i am way to close to the hud/cockpit front, so i always have to pull the slider a litte back to have it like in the screenshot shown. it seams like the default setting is way to close vor 2 Stunden schrieb SirJ: it looks like your seating position is far back. What do you mean to thick? Granted what you are seeing vs what I am seeing on my phone are different. If you are talking about the odd fuzzy look od the text on the HUD turn down the brightness.
o2r_basti Posted February 1, 2021 Author Posted February 1, 2021 its getting a little better when i am moving the headposition a little bit more to the front and then zoom out
Noluck Posted February 9, 2021 Posted February 9, 2021 This is a REAL problem. It depends on the display (monitor) setup you have. I have 3 1920x1080 monitors. I use the 1 screen option in the main menu. If I set the screen resolution to 1920x1080 or course I get the actual view on only the center display. At this setting the HUD is tack sharp and look like the real thing. Now if I keep the same 1 screen option and ONLY increase the screen resolution to 5760x1080 to enable the view on all 3 displays, the HUD looks like the OP's, thick and blurry. I have reported this multiple times, for me it is repeatable and very aggravating. Try my setup mentioned above, 3 individual displays (monitors) with the above settings. This is a real issue for some of us with our type of display setup. PLEASE try and duplicate. The HUD does really looks bad folks. I'll try and get some screen captures to share, not at home right now. --- 1 PC: Windows 10 Pro X64, AMD FX8120 8 Core @ ~4.0GHz, 32GB DDR3-1600, GTX 1080 8Gb, 1 TB EVO 860 SSD | Displays: 3 Dell HD 1920x1080 @ 5520x1080 windowed ||| Hardware : TM Warthog HOTAS Stick+Throttle | 3x TM Cougar MFD's | WW Combat Panel | WW Landing Panel ||| Mods: F/A-18C | F-16 | P51-D | UH-1H | C130-J | NTTR | Persian Gulf | Syria | Channel | Normandy | WWII Assets | Super Carrier | Combined Arms
GregP Posted February 9, 2021 Posted February 9, 2021 We should clarify that OP is talking about the thick, blurry HUD text, not the fact that [in that screenshot] he can't see the entire HUD -- that's just a head-position-too-far-back issue. The HUD text issue is a known problem that's been there since the module was first released and there's been multiple threads on this topic. It seems that at any resolution other than 1080p, the HUD (and DDI text) appears thick and blurry. This mod does a pretty good job of fixing it and I've been using it for a long time now.
o2r_basti Posted February 10, 2021 Author Posted February 10, 2021 (edited) as @Noluck said there is something wrong with high resolutions... when i switch to 3860x1440 it looks like it did on full hd screen... when i switch to 5120 1440 (native resolution of my samsung g9) the hud is "too big" and i cant read everything. when i move the head position forward it helps. another thing is the seating/body position with this resolution. it way to far in the front with changing head position it gets even worse... so i always have to you use zoom/fov slider on my hotas... in the f 16 its no problem at all, also a 10c.... i moded a file now to make the hud thinner what helps a little bit, but the seating problem still remains and the head issue . i can post a screenshot later where zoom/fov in neutral with adjusted head position in the graphic's settings its 5120:1440 1 screen (did test 3 screens, but it f* up the view) Edited February 10, 2021 by o2r_basti

SirBenn21 Posted March 5, 2021 Posted March 5, 2021 (edited) I seem to have the same problem. The lines and font are thick and blury and it does not fit in the space that it should on the HUD. The mod works good enough but... I also have a 49inch Samsung running at 5120 1440. I don't seem to have probems with most of the other modules. Please could this be fixed. Thanks Edited March 5, 2021 by SirBenn21 1
