imacken
In the last week, I'm getting regular crashes when in DCS, resulting in my PC shutting down dramatically and restarting! Almost always seems to be when I'm in a menu, usually the Controls Menu. No mods and done a repair. Also cleared out the temporary files in App Data. I've attached a log. Is there anything interesting in it? Never sure about these things myself. dcs.log Intel i7 12700K · MSI Gaming X Trio RTX 4090 · ASUS ROG STRIX Z690-A Wi-Fi · MSI 32" MPG321UR QD · Samsung 970 500Gb M.2 NVMe · 2 x Samsung 850 Evo 1Tb · 2Tb HDD · 32Gb Corsair Vengance 3000MHz DDR4 · Windows 11 · Thrustmaster TPR Pedals · Tobii Eye Tracker 5 · Thrustmaster F/A-18 Hornet Grip · Virpil MongoosT-50CM3 Base · Virpil Throttle MT-50 CM3 · Virpil Alpha Prime Grip · Virpil Control Panel 2 · Thrustmaster F-16 MFDs · HTC Vive Pro 2 · Total Controls Multifunction Button Box

ED Team BIGNEWY Posted February 2, 2021 ED Team Share Posted February 2, 2021 Are you overclocking or is there a factory overclock on the card? Forum rules - DCS Crashing? imacken
I am not O/Cing, but the card is factory O/Ced. I usually do have some extra set in MSI Afterburner, but to check if this was the issue, I removed it a couple of days ago. Same thing occurring. Not seen this happening ever before, just in the last few days, since the last patch. Could be a coincidence, but... Flappie
Hi @imacken. Take a look at the Windows Event Viewer at the time of your crashes. There might be more information available. Look into "Windows Logs/Applications" and "Windows Logs/System". Please copy-paste what you can find. Don't accept indie game testing requests from friends in Discord. Ever. imacken
This is still happening. Only DCS is causing an issue for me. Just causes my PC to shutdown and restart about once a week. Log attached, but same last line as in the one above. Nothing obvious in Event Viewer system/applications around the time of the DCS crash. dcs.zip Intel i7 12700K · MSI Gaming X Trio RTX 4090 · ASUS ROG STRIX Z690-A Wi-Fi · MSI 32" MPG321UR QD · Samsung 970 500Gb M.2 NVMe · 2 x Samsung 850 Evo 1Tb · 2Tb HDD · 32Gb Corsair Vengance 3000MHz DDR4 · Windows 11 · Thrustmaster TPR Pedals · Tobii Eye Tracker 5 · Thrustmaster F/A-18 Hornet Grip · Virpil MongoosT-50CM3 Base · Virpil Throttle MT-50 CM3 · Virpil Alpha Prime Grip · Virpil Control Panel 2 · Thrustmaster F-16 MFDs · HTC Vive Pro 2 · Total Controls Multifunction Button Box

imacken
Tried, and it made no difference. The crashes always occur when I am in Menus as you can see from the log files. New one attached. Just to reiterate, I have no GPU/CPU overclocking, no SSLR, no MSI Afterburner, pagefile set to 32gb and a new Corsair RM850x PSU. dcs.zip Edited February 14, 2021 by imacken Intel i7 12700K · MSI Gaming X Trio RTX 4090 · ASUS ROG STRIX Z690-A Wi-Fi · MSI 32" MPG321UR QD · Samsung 970 500Gb M.2 NVMe · 2 x Samsung 850 Evo 1Tb · 2Tb HDD · 32Gb Corsair Vengance 3000MHz DDR4 · Windows 11 · Thrustmaster TPR Pedals · Tobii Eye Tracker 5 · Thrustmaster F/A-18 Hornet Grip · Virpil MongoosT-50CM3 Base · Virpil Throttle MT-50 CM3 · Virpil Alpha Prime Grip · Virpil Control Panel 2 · Thrustmaster F-16 MFDs · HTC Vive Pro 2 · Total Controls Multifunction Button Box
Flappie
I don't see this often, DCS crashing in the menus. In the log file, all seems in order, until the "DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_REMOVED" thing happens. Please try to rename your "Saved Games\DCS.openbeta" into "DCS.openbeta_backup", then launch DCS and see if it keeps crashing. If so, please attach your dxdiag log.
