Lange_666 Posted February 7, 2021 Posted February 7, 2021 Story: Needed to test a videocard. Swapped out my GTX1080ti, put in a GTX780 to test, didn't work under load (what i was expecting), removed it again and put back the 1080ti. Since then i don't have AA in DCS (DCS only, other games are fine). No matter what setting i try, there's no AA. In Nvidia Control Panel the remove button for the DCS profile is grayed out, so that's not an option. Any other idea's are welcome. Flappie Posted February 7, 2021 Posted February 7, 2021 Hi. Maybe the game doesn't detect your GPU properly anymore. Please attach your dcs.log file along with your dxdiag log. ---

Flappie Posted February 7, 2021 Posted February 7, 2021 Thanks. DCS seems to properly recognize your 1080Ti. 2021-02-07 11:28:16.172 INFO DX11BACKEND: DX11Renderer initialization (w:2560 h:1440 fullscrn:1 vsync:0 adapter:0 monitor:1 shaderErrors:1) 2021-02-07 11:28:16.634 INFO DX11BACKEND: Driver Concurrent Creates - 1 2021-02-07 11:28:16.634 INFO DX11BACKEND: Driver Command Lists - 1 2021-02-07 11:28:16.750 INFO DX11BACKEND: NVIDIA API init OK 2021-02-07 11:28:16.750 INFO DX11BACKEND: NVIDIA Display Driver Version 45148.r451_40 2021-02-07 11:28:16.750 INFO DX11BACKEND: GPU count:1 ... 2021-02-07 11:28:23.231 INFO DCS: gDescription: "NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 Ti" gVendorId: 4318 gDeviceId: 6918 gMemory: 11127 MB Have you ensured your "Antialiasing - mode" NVIDIA setting for dcs.exe is "Application controlled"? Lange_666 Posted February 7, 2021 Author Posted February 7, 2021 Yes, AA-mode is (was) set to Application controlled. Shaders were cleared before the update to the latest Beta which i did yesterday. NV Cache: removed those with a yesterday's data tag. Win11 Pro 64-bit, Ryzen 5800X3D, Corsair H115i, Gigabyte X570S UD, EVGA 3080Ti XC3 Ultra 12GB, 64 GB DDR4 G.Skill 3600. Glide Posted February 7, 2021 Posted February 7, 2021 Tried resetting your global defaults in the NCP?
Flappie Posted February 7, 2021 Posted February 7, 2021 I've compared our dxdiag logs (I own a 1080Ti too): all seems OK. Try what @glide suggests. ---

No but i took a more drastic approach by removing the NCP DCS profile (through nVidia Inspector) and making a new one. All seems OK now. Thx both for the help & hints! All seems OK now. In the end this didn't work. It seemed to work but i did only a quick test because of lack of time. Yesterday i had some more time on my hands so it still didn't work. Syria map, Haifa airport i noticed way to much shimmering then it should with MSAA x4 so i tried some other values, let the NCP take over, no joy at all. Both stable an OB had the same problem (but i use to copy my settings over between them). In the end i removed the options.lua (and the presets) and started fresh, MSAA came to life immediatly. All works again now. 1 Win11 Pro 64-bit, Ryzen 5800X3D, Corsair H115i, Gigabyte X570S UD, EVGA 3080Ti XC3 Ultra 12GB, 64 GB DDR4 G.Skill 3600.
