What kind of ground textures do you all use?

Mine dont look like anything i see on some of the screenshots here, mine is kinda flat and washed out.

Almost everyone now uses the SimMod ground and runway textures. Go to LOCKONFILES.COM's Download section. (You'll have to register first, if you're not a member.) Once there go to the SimMod section and download: "LO Reload Ground and Air Base Textures b01".

While you're there, if you don't already have it, download the latest version of ModMan (6.3.01) and use that to install it.

Have in mind that above mentioned "LO Reload Ground and Air Base Textures b01" are summer textures only! So to have it in your mission make sure you've selected summer in your Misson Editor/Weather UI!

Guys from Sim-mod work on other seasons too and Grandsurf is improving summer textures to add more detail and eye candy!

I'm looking forward to SIM-MOD's winter textures, it's WIP but there are preview screenshot posted somewhere in forum. You'll see frozen runways and lots, lots of snow!

Yeas a good snow terrain would be cool, original LO's was supposed to be well but it isn't.

Reminder: Fighter pilots make movies. Bomber pilots make... HISTORY! :D | Also to be remembered: FRENCH TANKS HAVE ONE GEAR FORWARD AND FIVE BACKWARD :D

A great looking combination:

Air Base Ground Textures

Ground Pounder Mod

Tree Shader Mod

All 3 can be found on www.lockonfiles.com

P.S. Then bump your graphics settings up real high and it will look even better! ;)

Yes, enabling Anisotropic filtering and setting it to max in your gfx driver's control panel will make the textures look much sharper. FPS loss is barely noticeable on a PC/gfx card from the past 3-4 years or so.

Yeah IH, the only way I found out about it was because you mentioned it in your tutorials.

Air Base Ground Textures and the Ground Pounder Mod are incorporated into the LO Reload Ground and Air Base Textures b01 mod. Also, there is a nice winter ground texture currently available at lockonfiles.com entitled, 'WINTER TERRAIN REPLACEMENT PACK for 1.02"
