norman99 Posted March 6, 2021 Posted March 6, 2021 I was reading through the NATOPS Flight Manual, and came across the following statement: WARNING Use of catapult 4 is restricted with certain stores loaded on station 2. Refer to applicable launch bulletin. This made me curious. Does anyone know the details of any restrictions, and why they exist? 1
Machalot Posted March 6, 2021 Posted March 6, 2021 I would guess this is to avoid contact between the station 2 store and the deck. 1 "Subsonic is below Mach 1, supersonic is up to Mach 5. Above Mach 5 is hypersonic. And reentry from space, well, that's like Mach a lot."

Certain ordnance on that station will impact the bubble. There's what is called a "go-no-go" list with us as Flight deck directors. Every Flight Deck Director had to be familiar and carry the list on them. I think CAT3 had restrictions as well. It's been a while! I hope that answers your question!
