I can't really make heads or tails of the naming convention of the Line Select Keys in the CDU. The manual describes that there are 8 of them, 4 to the left and 4 to the right of the CDU, but doesn't explain which one is called what.

Further below, there are plenty examples where the top most LSK is called e.g. "LSK L3".

I am assuming that the LSKs are not named from top to bottom (LSK L1 through LSK L4 and their respective right hand counterparts), but that they're actually named after the line that they're next to, which gives from top to bottom Line 1, Line 2, Line and LSK 3, Line 4, Line and LSK 5, Line 6, Line and LSK 7, Line 8, Line and LSK 9, and Line 10, making them LSK L[3/5/7/9] and LSK R[3/5/7/9] respectively.

Can anyone confirm that?

And if it's properly explained in the manual, I'd be grateful for the chapter or page number, because so far I just couldn't find it.

You're correct that the numbers refer to the screen text lines, not the keys. The real A10-C manual uses terms like 'Waypoint LSK' without referring to numbers, which seems much more natural to me.

There are 10 lines of text on the CDU screen, so the buttons are technically LSKs 3,5,7 and 9. But Deep is right, you'll typically see them referenced as what field they are tied to on the current screen. To make things simpler, in my vSqn we typically just refer to them as LSKs (Left/Right) 1-4.

Here's an image from the hoggit wiki that outlines the lines/buttons configuration pretty clearly.
