II.JG1_Vonrd Posted July 24, 2022 Posted July 24, 2022 (edited) What is the best way to use JoyPro when replacing a single controller? I want to keep all of my rudder and throttle bindings as is but have to make new bindings for my new joystick. EDIT: I think I have it... "Import Bindings" for my current items, leaving out the old joystick, and go from there. Right? Edited July 24, 2022 by II.JG1_Vonrd

It won’t take that long for a single controller and then apply it to all your modules. Some of the controls on my existing throttle, hat switches and some buttons for example, have different functions for particular models. How do I avoid over-wrighting those? "Merge and Keep existing Binds" or "Merge, Keep Existing and Add to"?

There are a few options, create a relation that has multiple functions - e.g. call it throttle button 1 - which does one thing for one aircraft and something else for another. Or create multiple relations which bind to the same controls. E.g. Collective and Thrust which both bind to the throttle axis. The profiler validation function will tell you if you have bound the same control to multiple functions for the same aircraft. imacken Posted July 25, 2022 Author Posted July 25, 2022 Personally, I have a relation for each button/axis in JoyPro. i find that is easier to organise, and more efficient as their are much fewer relations than doing it by function. imacken Posted July 25, 2022 Author Posted July 25, 2022 More than happy to do that, of course, but I can't see it would be useful to you unless you have the same devices as me. It's been so long since I started using JP that I can't remember how to start! But pretty sure I started with importing the bindings from DCS to JP. Have you tried that? Sorry, I might be wrong on that. As I said, it been so long - 2 years? - since I first started with JP so I really can't remember exactly. Yeah, I most likely have different peripherals than you and it would be of minimal help. Thanks for the response and offer though! Actually I just found and I'm going through the video tutorials by GottHold Nicetomeet which are very extensive. I think I will probably have most of my questions answered. Toledo Posted April 9, 2023 Posted April 9, 2023 I just started using JP yesterday. I think I have it down pretty good. Still have a problem though. I have the TM Warthog stick and throttle and I am trying to bind Left/Right Engine Start/Stop to my throttle ENG OPER IGN/Motor switches. It binds them to all aircraft except A10C And A10C II. If you look in Controls for these aircraft, especially on the throttle, they are grayed out. Any ideas?
KadgaCD56 Posted May 5, 2023 Posted May 5, 2023 I'm unfortunately not getting it to work for me. I'll just go through what I have done so far to make it work: I have the install of joy pro on my C drive. I use the Open Beta 2.8 of DCS. I selected the directory of the open beta in saved games in joy pro. Then I imported the bindings from my configured F15C from flaming cliffs with my X55 HOTAS. It shows everything. The bindings are the ones I want, with the controllers that I want, so next I hit to overwrite and merge, it asks me for which planes, I select DCS All, it asks me if I really want to do it, I click yes, Joy Pro does it and says that it completed the operation with a smiley. Everything the way it should be, except for no changes having ocurred in the game at all. No matter what I do, merge, clean, overwrite, keep. The program tells me that its doing what I'm asking it to, but when I go into DCS nothing has ocurred. Nono of the boxes on the side are selected. It should work, but it doesn't, any ideas why ? Best Regards

imacken Posted May 6, 2023 Author Posted May 6, 2023 Looks ok. Rereading your earlier post, I’m not clear what the issue is. No matter what I do in JoyPro; delete everything, set only one bind or actually use the binds that I want from my F15 profile, the JoyPro App, although it says that it did the changes, does not. And I don‘t know why 🫠
imacken Posted May 6, 2023 Author Posted May 6, 2023 Could it be because you are doing ‘export and merge’? I’ve never used that option. Try ‘export and delete/overwrite’ or whatever it’s called. Sorry, I’m away from my PC and can’t remember exactly what it’s called. BTW, I would change your backup number of days to just a handful. To hit "clean existing and Export" doesn't work either. The app just doesn't change anything in DCS at all. I wonder if I should just erase the content of the config folder (after making a backup in a different directory obviously) and try it with Joy pro after doing that. Update: nullInterestingly Joy Pro did generate files in my Config folder. Every airplane type contains .lua and .jp files with the bindings that I wanted. Why are they not bein recognized by the game though ? Edited May 6, 2023 by KadgaCD56
KadgaCD56 Posted May 6, 2023 Posted May 6, 2023 (edited) New update: I deleted everything I had in the Input Folder and deleted the two JP backup folders. Then I loaded my F15 profile into Joy Pro again and executed. I started the game and to my surprise all the binds were how I had them before. So again, although Joy Pro did edit the Config folder, adding its backups and folders of all its airplanes with the .lua and .jp files, the efect on the configs in the game was Zero. What surprises me is that there were still binds there, since I had deleted everything manually that was in that Input folder. Edited May 6, 2023 by KadgaCD56
