imacken Posted March 16, 2021 Posted March 16, 2021 I know this has been reported, but I thought I would say that since I got the Virpil CM3 throttles with physical detents, this bug is a real immersion killer. AB sound boom comes in way too early when still in mil power, and when I push past the AB detent, it is such an anti-climax. It's not just the Hornet that this happens, Viper and others - I can't remember which - as well. I really hope this gets tweaked very soon. 1 Intel i7 12700K · MSI Gaming X Trio RTX 4090 · ASUS ROG STRIX Z690-A Wi-Fi · MSI 32" MPG321UR QD · Samsung 970 500Gb M.2 NVMe · 2 x Samsung 850 Evo 1Tb · 2Tb HDD · 32Gb Corsair Vengance 3000MHz DDR4 · Windows 11 · Thrustmaster TPR Pedals · Tobii Eye Tracker 5 · Thrustmaster F/A-18 Hornet Grip · Virpil MongoosT-50CM3 Base · Virpil Throttle MT-50 CM3 · Virpil Alpha Prime Grip · Virpil Control Panel 2 · Thrustmaster F-16 MFDs · HTC Vive Pro 2 · Total Controls Multifunction Button Box

That is the problem with the mechanical detents, that you need to adjust them for the game in DCS. In the BMS you can in input configuration select the position here afterburner should start and the game adjust the cockpit throttle positions based to that. Many has wanted that to DCS World as well. But this is as well reason why VKB went to the electronic detents, that you can configure them with the software to be at different positions and load those positions with push of a button. This way you can have different AB detents for different planes without adjusting physically anything. 1 i7-8700k, 32GB 2666Mhz DDR4, 2x 2080S SLI 8GB, Oculus Rift S. i7-8700k, 16GB 2666Mhz DDR4, 1080Ti 11GB, 27" 4K, 65" HDR 4K.
Drac Posted March 16, 2021 Posted March 16, 2021 @imacken- I noticed that also. Outside view shows no AB indication.
imacken Posted March 16, 2021 Author Posted March 16, 2021 (edited) @Fri13 No, that's not the problem. It's not with the detents, it's a bug in the game that has been reported here. AB for the detents is customisable, but if synced to the AB coming on (correct), then the sound comes way before. Nothing to do with detents. Just go to an external view of the Hornet, listen for the AB sound and you'll see the AB doesn't come on. Keep pushing the throttle and it does.
