That's because the TCS is "hosted" on the PC of the RIO player and then gets send through the network to the pilots PC, which causes some lag. I'm afraid there's not much HB can do about it. When flying solo all the aircraft systems are hosted on the pilot PC, so he doesn't get any lag when looking at the TCS screen.

Doesn't it stop escaping in a steady flight?

I haven't really done any thorough investigation on it with my pilot (I'm pretty much always the RIO), but I think if you're in a steady flight and the bandit is steady as well, then the TCS display for the pilot is also much more steady, yes. But especially on PvP servers this isn't really the case very often.

I'm going to make one of "those" posts, so excuse me... but...

I'm not an expert, but SEEMS TO ME (lol) that you could fix this by giving control over the TCS camera for a locked target to the pilots own computer for the duration of a stabilized picture. Then take it back when the lock breaks. For discrepancies, we'll have to rely on netcode to be fast enough to resolve a split locked/free state between pilots and RIOs...

It's a bit of an annoying problem, since TCS gives vital information to the pilot about the enemy's aircraft state, missile shots etc.

Technically this might be possible (can't say for sure as I don't know the code), but I don't think it's a good idea. The TCS doesn't just give those vital information to the pilot, but also to the RIO, who can communicate those information to the pilot if necessary. The pilot should not be flying heads down in a WVR situation, so IMHO it's better to leave it to the human RIO to keep an eye on the screen.

On other hand, Pilot got 2 screens while RIO only one, and if RIO changes screen to TCS then TID is blacked out for everyone
