Yurgon Posted April 11, 2021 Posted April 11, 2021 (edited) The excellent 476th documents, namely the TTP for the A-10, propose profile names to use in the DSMS. I was wondering if someone had figured out profile names for the new weapons we got with the A-10C II: - AGR-20A (M151 and M282 warheads) - GBU-54 - AGM-65L I'm guessing the GBU-54 is simply going to be "54" and the Laser-Maverick might be "65L", but with the APKWS there's a whole bunch of options, like going for the AGR-20 designation with "Laser" added: "20L", or maybe going by the warheads "15L" and "28L" or maybe following the M151 HE designation for "HEL", but then what about the M282 warhead? The documents from the 476th haven't been updated, but maybe I'm just using the wrong link? Any pointers would be appreciated. Edited April 11, 2021 by Yurgon
Frederf Posted April 14, 2021 Posted April 14, 2021 In keeping with the rocket naming convention I would think "HE" + "L" and "MP" + "L" for the M151 and M282 warheads respectively. "MP" for multipurpose. Maybe if they are better known as ARG-20 then perhaps "20"+"H" and "20"+M. 1
Yurgon Posted April 15, 2021 Author Posted April 15, 2021 Yeah, that sounds pretty plausible, thanks! Since it seems there's no authoritative answer yet, I guess we'll probably be using those in our squad for the time being. Any hints or pointers to real world use would still be most appreciated.

That's exactly what we are doing as well for the moment. 2 Windows 11 | i9 12900KF | 64GB DDR4 | RTX 3090 | TM Warthog HOTAS | Saitek Combat Rudder Pedals | TM MFDs + Lilliput 8" | TIR5 Pro
