Hippo Posted April 24, 2021 Posted April 24, 2021 (edited) Whether it's a mission where the aircraft starts on the ramp, or on the runway ready for takeoff, pushing the button for AUTO on the HSI does nothing. It only works if pushed after the aircraft starts moving. Hippo Posted April 24, 2021 Author Posted April 24, 2021 (edited) I notice the post has been tagged as "need track replay". A track replay will show nothing as I will just be sitting in the a/c on the runway pushing the button for AUTO on the HSI page, and nothing will happen. Providing a short track supports ED to research that problem as quick as possible, no matter how nonsensical it may seem to you. ED Team BIGNEWY Posted April 24, 2021 ED Team Posted April 24, 2021 We ask for a track replay to show the issue first hand. We will also need evidence that this is / is not a bug. We will need time to investigate. thanks Forum rules - DCS Crashing? Hippo Posted April 25, 2021 Author Posted April 25, 2021 (edited) OK. Track attached. Mission has the F-18 ready to taxi on the ramp. Notice that I press the HSI - AUTO button repeatedly and nothing happens. Once I start the aircraft moving pressing AUTO does work. I then bring the aircraft to a stop and AUTO continues to work - so it's not an issue of the aircraft being stationary on the ground. Evidence? Well, the same behaviour occurs in a mission where the aircraft starts on the runway (track not included, but trust me the same thing happens ;)). Evidently the aircraft has had to move to get to the runway, so AUTO should work in this case at least. The NATOPS says nothing about AUTO not working before the aircraft is moved. Surely this would be mentioned. It seems entirely reasonable to expect to be able to set AUTO and WP1 on the ground so that after the takeoff the aircraft is configured and the CPL A/P can be quickly engaged. I can think of no logical reason as to why it is not possible to engage AUTO before the aircraft starts moving. EDIT: Also, this doesn't appear to happen in missions where the a/c starts on the carrier. auto_wp_mov.trk Edited April 25, 2021 by Hippo System spec: AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D @ stock, MSI GeForce RTX 5090 Ventus 3X OC 32 GB DDR7, Gigabyte X870 Gaming X, Corsair Vengeance LPX 32GB EXPO (2 x 16GB) DDR5 5300MHz C30, Samsung 980 EVO 500 GB NVME M.2 SSD (system drive), WD Black SN 850X 2TB NVME M.2 SSD (games drive), Thermalright Assassin Spirit 120 Evo Cooler, Asus XG43UQ Monitor, Oculus Quest Pro, Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS, Thrustmaster Pendular Rudder
