I love your map - I think it's the most fleshed out and vivid map out there. And I understand your urge to pump up the performance, due to popular demand. That said, I think you cheated somewhat to achive this goal. I'm talking from a helicopter perspective on the matter here... Let's take Adana as an example. You added a lot of detail to the city, fences, fences everywhere. EVERYwhere. I'd think that eats a lot of performance. And I think you know that and to compensate for that you decreased the range for detailed textures to load dramatically. The constant pop-in of textures is annoying. Even more annoying is, that the detailed textures of some very large buildings (buildings in the center, that you can see from the perimeter of the town) won't load until within a 100 meters of range, which look awful! Talking about fences. Haven't you noticed the strong aliasing problem with them? the whole city scenery is a flickering mess now... that is with 4k + 2xMSAA.... (and ultra viewing distance) Please, please, please.... repair this! I think Syria is by far the most important map for helicopters and the "low and slow"-optics really, really matter for us. I'm aware that helos are probably a minority and that every issue I talked about doesn't effect you, once over like 3000 feet but.... PLEASE! PLEASE! @Hiob is using some strong words, I mean "repair this mess" shouldn't have been said here... But in general I have to kind of agree with the OP. Syria is so incredibly great for us chopperheads. Truly next level within DCS! But... All this beauty comes at a high performance cost. Where all my other maps run smooth, I can't seem to achieve the same for Syria (without going Minecraft graphics). While I wish I could update my GPU for some extra power, I can't for all the obvious reasons.. I wish we were able to have more control over city details, such as (indeed) fences and overal textures. Sorry, didn't meant to use inappropriate language... I'm just a little bit emotional about this issue....
