leafer Posted September 27, 2008 Posted September 27, 2008 I know it's silly but I'm really curious if it's possible to have the paint wears off from actually flying the beast instead of what we usually get which is pre-worn from the factory? :D Man, this is stupid, I know, but would it be a nightmare to code something like that? That way, not all our planes look exactly the same. Oi, don't kill me. Just wondering. ED have been taking my money since 1995. :P
NotiA10 Posted September 27, 2008 Posted September 27, 2008 then you need something programmed to give it a new paint job and to scrub it every now and then as well !!! :pilotfly: NotiA10 CoolerMaster HAF RC-932 - Intel Core i7 950 - Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro - Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD3R - Kingston DDR3 6GB - Gigabyte Radeon HD 5870 EF 6 Edition - Western Digital 640GB SATA-III - CoolerMaster 700W - TrackIR Pro 4 - Saitek X52 - Saitek Rudder Pedals - Hotas Warthog
Vekkinho Posted September 27, 2008 Posted September 27, 2008 You're asking for a progressive skin that bleaches with time. In order to restore it we'd have to reinstall the skin thru ModMan or reinstall entire DCS:BS! LOL! [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Deadman Posted September 27, 2008 Posted September 27, 2008 F.O has posted that they are going to use some thing like this where you skin will weather for use https://forum.dcs.world/topic/133818-deadmans-cockpit-base-plans/#comment-133824 CNCs and Laser engravers are great but they can't do squat with out a precise set of plans.
Allo Posted September 27, 2008 Posted September 27, 2008 Recently got a game call "Grid." It's an arcade car racing game. Every time you use a car it gets dirtier. The more you use it the dirtier it gets. That is, till you wash it. Pretty neat feature I thought. Would be cool if this feature was in Black Shark, but it's not a deal breaker for me. In Lock On, as the plane gets damaged it gets scratches and what not. Couldn't you just make those scratches appear with the flight hours the chopper has had? leafer Posted September 28, 2008 Author Posted September 28, 2008 A-hah. And i thought i was the first with the idea. But that's what I was talking about. It'd be an interesting feature. A sort of feature that gives you the bragging right because you logged x number of hours flying and fighting in 'one' bird...a smokin' ace nerd. :D Take pride in your work sort of thing. I imagine most of us won't survive the first...make that the fifth landing in the Ka-50, but when you finally master the beast which is most likely right around the same time ED release the third module, you'll also learn to take care of your virtual machine and not go through them like beer. ED will reward each individual who logged more than 100 hrs in a single copter with an SUV-sized ego. :D ED have been taking my money since 1995. :P
Avimimus Posted September 28, 2008 Posted September 28, 2008 Of course, once DCS:BS is released Oleg is going to have to model a body for the pilot and the other crew members... (the circle is round) ;)
