markturner1960 Posted May 10, 2021 Posted May 10, 2021 This is a little off the usual, but I just wondered if other VR users notice that for example, when refueling and focusing on things at approx tanker distance, that stuff like the HUD and canopy rail are out of focus? By this I mean not blurred, but seeing double......I get this, with the images overlaid approx a HUD width or so, it goes away when I change focus to look at the HUD.... Is this a function of how the images are projected and your distance away from the lenses? or do I have something not set correctly? dburne Posted May 10, 2021 Posted May 10, 2021 Hard to say but sounds like your IPD setting may be off a little. ShaunX Posted May 10, 2021 Posted May 10, 2021 Isn't this just an approximation of what happens IRL ? Hold a pen up in front of your eyes at arms length and then focus on something past it in the distance. you'll see 2 pens. 2 RYZEN 5900X | 32GB | ASUS Strix RTX3090 | 500GB NVMe OS 1000GB NVMe DCS | Warthog HOTAS | HP Reverb G2 | VA & ViacomPRO My DCS Apps: Radio KAOS for DCS KB Quick - Quick and Easy Kneeboards
Rokkett Posted May 12, 2021 Posted May 12, 2021 Yes, it does sound like the OP is describing normal binocular vision, in particular stereopsis.
markturner1960 Posted May 23, 2021 Author Posted May 23, 2021 Maybe it’s just more noticeable due to the compressed depth compared to “real life”. I tried adjusting the IPD on my G2 and does not seem to make much difference to anything..... Supmua Posted May 23, 2021 Posted May 23, 2021 If you see double with one eye closed then you need to see your doctor. For double vision with both eyes it’s typically due to misalignment of the eyes or things that you’re looking through. Try to tilt your headset a bit left or right and see if this helps.
